Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj is talking to us in the Soohi Raag.
Soohi Raag is a Raag which is full of complete love, of complete ecstasy of God’s name. And, in this complete deep crimson color of love Guru Arjan Dev ji says deen chhadaa-ay dunee jo laa-ay. Deen means the path of righteousness, the path of love, the path of God. chhadaa-ay, chhadaa-ay means to walk away from dunee the world, jo means who laa-ay means to be attached to.
One who walks away from the path of God and attach themselves to this false world, this fake world, what happens? That person duhee saraa-ee, duhee means in both, saraa-ee means worlds, khunaamee kahaa-ay, khunaamee means sinner, kahaa-ay means to be caught. That person who gives up the path of God, the path of meditation and attach himself completely in the world, he loses in both senses, because the world he is attached to is fake. And he hasn’t found the reality.
jo tis bhaavai so parvaan, that person, jo tis bhaavai, tis bhaavai means to please his Waheguru, so parvaan, Guru ji says that person who pleases Waheguru, that person is the only person who is approved in both worlds.
aapnee kudrat aapay jaan, aapnee means his own, kudrat means God’s creative power, aapay jaan, aapay means his own, jaan knows, only God Himself knows His great creative power. Guruji says pause and think about it.
sachaa Dharam punn bhalaa karaa-ay. That person who follows sachaa Dharam, who makes righteousness his dharam, his true living. punn who gives out to those who are needy, bhalaa means a person who is kind and merciful on others, karaa-ay means to do.
What does that person do? deen kai tosai, tosai means supplies, deen kai means for God’s path, that person collects together supplies to help him along God’s path. dunee na jaa-ay, but by collecting these supplies, that doesn’t mean worldly success fails him. dunee na jaa-ay, the world does not fail him, he is a winner in this world and the next.
sarab nirantar ayko jaagai, sarab means within all, nirantar means inside ayko means one, jaagai means is awake. Within all, amongst all, only the One Waheguru is awake. Waheguru ji is the One who is awake and talking to all of us.
jit jit laa-i-aa tit tit ko laagai, jit jit means wherever laa-i-aa means to attach, wherever He attaches us tit tit ko laagai, in that place we are attached.
agam agochar sach saahib mayraa, agam means inaccessible, agochar means one who has no end, whose end cannot be known, who is unfathomable, sach means true, saahib means Lord, mayraa means mine. O my Lord You are inaccessible, to this mind, only accessible through love. You are unfathomable to this mind, only known through love. You are true forever and ever.
naanak bolai bolaa-i-aa tayraa, Nanak speaks bolai bolaa-i-aa as you inspire Him to speak. As you inspire Him to tell the Truth, so Nanak speaks the Truth.
Guruji is saying to us today, you want to win in this world, be prepared for the next. Do not get absorbed into fakeness, into the falseness of this world, be righteous and righteousness will guide you at all times. jo tis bhaavai so parvaan, aapnee kudrat aapay jaan ||1|| rahaa-o
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
