Sorat’h, Fifth Mehla:

ismir ismir pRB Bey AnMdw duK klys siB nwTy ]
simar simar prabh bheae ana(n)dhaa dhukh kalaes sabh naat(h)ae ||
Remembering, remembering God in meditation, bliss ensues, and one is rid of all suffering and pain.

gun gwvq iDAwvq pRBu Apnw kwrj sgly sWTy ]1]
gun gaavath dhhiaavath prabh apanaa kaaraj sagalae saa(n)t(h)ae ||1||
Singing the Glorious Praises of God, and meditating on Him, all my affairs are brought into harmony. ||1||

jagajeevan naam thumaaraa ||
Your Name is the Life of the world.

gur pUry dIE aupdysw jip Baujlu pwir auqwrw ] rhwau ]
gur poorae dheeou oupadhaesaa jap bhoujal paar outhaaraa || rehaao ||
The Perfect Guru has taught me, that by meditating, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||Pause||

thoohai ma(n)three sunehi prabh thoohai sabh kishh karanaihaaraa ||
You are Your own advisor; You hear everything, God, and You do everything

qU Awpy dwqw Awpy Bugqw ikAw iehu jMqu ivcwrw ]2]
thoo aapae dhaathaa aapae bhugathaa kiaa eihu ja(n)th vichaaraa ||2||
You Yourself are the Giver, and You Yourself are the Enjoyer. What can this poor creature do? ||2||

ikAw gux qyry AwiK vKwxI kImiq khxu n jweI ]
kiaa gun thaerae aakh vakhaanee keemath kehan n jaaee ||
Which of Your Glorious Virtues should I describe and speak of? Your value cannot be described.

pyiK pyiK jIvY pRBu Apnw Acrju qumih vfweI ]3]
paekh paekh jeevai prabh apanaa acharaj thumehi vaddaaee ||3||
I live by beholding, beholding You, O God. Your glorious greatness is wonderful and amazing! ||3||

Dwir AnugRhu Awip pRB svwmI piq miq kInI pUrI ]
dhhaar anugrahu aap prabh svaamee path math keenee pooree ||
Granting His Grace, God my Lord and Master Himself saved my honor, and my intellect has been made perfect.

sadhaa sadhaa naanak balihaaree baashho sa(n)thaa dhhooree ||4||13||63||
Forever and ever, Nanak is a sacrifice, longing for the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||13||63||

ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One Continuous God, Eternal, True, Divine Enlightener, Merciful, Guru’s Grace.

eyku ipqw eyks ky hm bwirk qU myrw gur hweI ]
ayk pitaa aykas kay ham baarik too mayraa gur haa-ee.
The One God is our father; we are the children of the One God. You are our Guru.

suix mIqw jIau hmwrw bil bil jwsI hir drsnu dyhu idKweI ]1]
sun meetaa jee-o hamaaraa bal bal jaasee har darsan dayh dikhaa-ee. ||1||
Listen, friends: my soul is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You; O Lord, reveal to me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||

suix mIqw DUrI kau bil jweI ]
sun meetaa Dhooree ka-o bal jaa-ee.
Listen, devotee friends: I am a sacrifice to the dust of Your feet.

iehu mnu qyrw BweI ] rhwau ]
ih man tayraa bhaa-ee. rahaa-o.
This mind is yours, O Siblings. ||Pause||

pwv mlovw mil mil Dovw iehu mnu qY kU dysw ]
paav malovaa mal mal Dhovaa ih man tai koo daysaa.
I wash your feet, I massage and clean them; I give this mind to you.

suix mIqw hau qyrI srxweI AwieAw pRB imlau dyhu aupdysw ]2]
sun meetaa ha-o tayree sarnaa-ee aa-i-aa parabh mila-o dayh updaysaa. ||2||
Listen, devotee friends: I have come to Your Sanctuary; teach me, that I might unite with God. ||2||

mwnu n kIjY srix prIjY krY su Blw mnweIAY ]
maan na keejai saran pareejai karai so bhalaa manaa-ee-ai.
The devotees advise: Do not be proud; seek His Sanctuary, and accept as good all that He does.

suix mIqw jIau ipMfu sBu qnu ArpIjY ieau drsnu hir jIau pweIAY ]3]
sun meetaa jee-o pind sabh tan arpeejai i-o darsan har jee-o paa-ee-ai. ||3||
Listen, devotee friend: dedicate your soul, body and your whole being to Him; thus you shall receive the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||3||

BieE AnugRhu pRswid sMqn kY hir nwmw hY mITw ]
bha-i-o anoograhu parsaad santan kai har naamaa hai meethaa.
He has shown mercy to me, by the Grace of the Guru; I now feel the sweetness of the Lord’s Name.

jn nwnk kau guir ikrpw DwrI sBu Akul inrMjnu fITw ]4]1]12]
jan naanak ka-o gur kirpaa Dhaaree sabh akul niranjan deethaa. ||4||1||12||
The Guru has shown mercy to servant Nanak; I see the casteless, immaculate Lord everywhere. ||4||1||12||
