Today’s hukamnama is by Guru Arjun Devji, in the raag Sorath, on Ang 620 of Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

bKisAw pwrbRhm prmysir sgly rog ibdwry ]
bakhsi-aa paarbarahm parmaysar saglay rog bidaaray.
The Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, has Blessed me, and all diseases have been cured.

gur pUry kI srxI aubry kwrj sgl svwry ]1]
gur pooray kee sarnee ubray kaaraj sagal savaaray. ||1||
Those who come to the Sanctuary of the True Guru are saved, and all their affairs are resolved. ||1||

har jan simri-aa naam aDhaar.
The Lord’s humble servant meditates in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; this is his only support.

taap utaari-aa satgur poorai apnee kirpaa Dhaar. rahaa-o.
The Perfect True Guru extended His Mercy, and the fever has been dispelled. ||Pause||

sadaa anand karah mayray pi-aaray har govid gur raakhi-aa.
Celebrate and be happy, my beloveds - the Guru has saved Hargobind.

vadee vadi-aa-ee naanak kartay kee saach sabad sat bhaakhi-aa. ||2||18||46||
Great is the glorious greatness of the Creator, O Nanak; True is the Word of His Shabad, and True is the sermon of His Teachings. ||2||18||46||

Dhan Dhan Siri Guru Arjun Devji Maharaj is blessing us today, in the raag Sorath, Guru Arjun Devji says, “Bakhsi-aa paarbarahm parmaysar saglay rog bidaaray.” Paarbarahm; that great Lord, that Waheguru who is pervading through all, he has bakhsi-aa; to bless. Waheguruji has blessed me, forgiven me. Saglay; all, rog; diseases, all of my diseases, all of the diseases of my body, mind and soul have been bidaaray; taken away, cured. The diseases of my mind, the depression which plagued me, the diseases of my body, the diseases of my soul, the ego which plagued me, have all been cured.

“Gur pooray kee sarnee ubray kaaraj sagal savaaray.” Those people who come into the sarnee;into the sanctuary, the protection, of the Gur pooray kee; of the perfect Guru are ubray; liberated, kaaraj; their affairs, sagal; all, savaaray; to be sorted, to be satisfied, to be filled. Everything they do is fulfilled.

“Har jan simri-aa naam aDhaar.” Har jan; the servant of Hari, the servant of Lord, simri-aa naam; meditating upon theNaam, aDhaar; support. The servant of Lord who meditates upon the name of the Lord takes all his/her support from the Naam.

“Taap utaari-aa satgur poorai apnee kirpaa Dhaar. rahaa-o.” The taap; the fever, the disease of ego, the disease of desire, the disease of greed, the disease of attachment, the disease of hatred. All these diseases which plague me have been utaari-aa; have been taken away. By who? By the satgur poorai; by the true Guru, the perfect Guru. When what happened? When Guru blessed me with apnee kirpaa Dhaar when the Guru immersed me in this mercy.

Rahaa-o.” Guruji says, “Pause and think about this.”

The Shabad historically was sung by Guru Arjun Devji when Guru Hargobind Sahib at a young age was saved from a fever. Guru Arjun Devji says, “sadaa anand karah mayray pi-aaray har govid gur raakhi-aa.” mayray pi-aaray; oh my beloved ones, sadaa anand karah; be happy, be in Anand; go into divine ecstasy, har govid gur raakhi-aa; Waheguru has saved Hargobind. But this shabad doesn’t just apply to that situation. Guru Arjun Devji is saying, “Waheguru will save us from the diseases of Kaam; lust, Karodh; anger, Lobh; greed, attachment, Moh; desire, Ahnkaar; ego and hatred.”

“Vadee vadi-aa-ee naanak kartay kee saach sabad sat bhaakhi-aa.” vadee vadi-aa-ee; the glory of the kartay; the creator, is vadee; great. Nanak says, “The glory of the creator, Waheguru, is greater that great.” Saach sabad sat bhaakhi-aa.” His Sabad; his word, is saach; true, sat bhaakhi-aa; all his teachings are true.

Guru Sahibji is telling us in this Shabad that if we fall into the protection of the Waheguru then Waheguru will take away our Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh, Ahnkaar. Waheguru will cure us of these incurable diseases and we too will be saved.
