ham bheekhak bhaykhaaree tayray too nij pat hai daataa.
I am just a poor beggar of Yours; You are Your Own Lord Master, You are the Great Giver.

hohu dai-aal naam dayh mangat jan ka^N-u sadaa raha-o rang raataa. ||1||
Be Merciful, and bless me, a humble beggar, with Your Name, so that I may forever remain imbued with Your Love. ||1||.

I am a sacrifice to Your Name, O True Lord.

bahutay fayr pa-ay kirpan ka-o ab kichh kirpaa keejai.
I was wretched; I wandered through so many cycles of reincarnation. Now, Lord, please bless me with Your Grace.

hohu da-i-aal darsan dayh apunaa aisee bakhas kareejai. ||2||
Be merciful, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; please grant me such a gift. ||2||.

bhanat naanak bharam pat khool^Hay gur parsaadee jaani-aa.
Prays Nanak, the shutters of doubt have been opened wide; by Guru’s Grace, I have come to know the Lord.

saachee liv laagee hai bheetar satgur si-o man maani-aa. ||3||1||9||
I am filled to overflowing with true love; my mind is pleased and appeased by the True Guru. ||3||1||9||.

Guru Amar Das Ji Maharaj, the image of seva in the house of Guru Nanak, speaks to us today in the Dhanasree raag, the raag of complete carefreeness.

And Guru Sahib ji says, ik-o^Nkaar satgur parsaad. ik-o^Nkaar There is one creative, destructive nourishing being who is found through the sat, the true Guru’s Grace.

And Guru Sahib ji says, ham bheekhak bhaykhaaree tayray too nij pat hai daataa. Oh Waheguru Ji! I am a poor beggar of tayray, Yours. I am a lowly beggar of Yours, Oh Akal Purakh Ji! Oh Nirankaar Ji!  too  You, nij pat means master of yourself, Oh Waheguru Ji! You are the master of Yourself. What does that mean? Waheguru Ji creates this universe and is within this universe. Guru Ji says, You are the master and You are the daataa. You give to everyone. Without You there is no other giver.

hohu dai-aal naam dayh mangat jan kau sadaa raha-o rang raataa. Oh Waheguru J! Please be merciful and kind upon me. Shower Your grace upon me and give naam dayh, the gift of Naam, of the eternal vibration of Your name, to the mangat jan kau, to the begging servant of Yours. And what will happen when you get the Naam? You will sadaa raha-o Remain forever and forever for eternity, rang rataa be colored in the color/love of Akal Purakh Ji.

ha-u balihaarai jaa-o saachay tayray naam vitahu. I am a sacrifice to You, Oh Waheguru! To Your true name. karan kaaran sabhnaa kaa ayko avar na doojaa ko-ee. You are karan kaaran the cause of all causes. sabna kaa ayko  You are the same for everyone, You are the one Waheguru for everyone. avar na doojaa ko-eer There is no other at all. You are the only one.

Rahaa-o Guru Ji says, Pause and think about this point.

ahaa-obahutay fayr pa-ay kirpan ka-o ab kichh kirpaa keejai. Oh Waheguru Ji!  I have been kirpan wretched for so many lifetimes. And what has happened because I was so kirpan? bahutay fayr  I have gone through the many cycles of reincarnation again and again. ab kichh kirpaa keejai  Now Waheguru Ji I am in this human life. Please bless me with something, please bless me with your Kirpaa, even with a tiny bit of your Grace.

hohu da-i-aal darsan dayh apunaa aisee bakhas kareejai. hohu da-i-aal  Please be merciful to me and give me your blessed darsan  vision. aisee bakhas kareejai  Give me this gift, this Grace! That’s all I ask for.

bhanat naanak bharam pat khoohlay gur parsaadee jaani-aa. Nanak says, bharam pat khoolay.  pat means doors, bharam means doubt, khoolay means open. The doors of doubt have been opened. How? gur parsaadee jaani-aa  Because I have realized Waheguru with the Guru’s Grace, with the Guru’s blessing.

saachee liv laagee hai bheetar satgur si-o man maani-aa  And now what has happened? bheetar  Within me, saachee liv love of Waheguru, has been planted within me. And my mind has been pleased by following the Satguru. My mind has found peace by following the Satguru.

What Guru Amar Das Ji saying to us today is be that beggar. Don’t beg for a new car, a job, for money and all the things. Beg for Naam and you will receive everything. Because as Sheikh Farid says:  sabbay vastu mithiyaan rub na pujjan tudh.  All material things are sweet, but they do not reach you. The level of Waheguru Ji’s Name is the highest, oochey uper oocha Nam. The whole world is asking for the Naam. sansaar rogi  The world is ill.  naam daaru, and this Naam is medicine, the only way to kill illness of this Kalyug, of this age of darkness.

karan kaaran sabhnaa kaa ayko avar na doojaa ko-ee
