jaithasaree mehalaa 4 ||
Jaitsree, Fourth Mehla:

Awpy jogI jugiq jugwhw ]
aapae jogee jugath jugaahaa ||
He Himself is the Yogi, and the way throughout the ages.

Awpy inrBau qwVI lwhw ]
aapae nirabho thaarree laahaa ||
The Fearless Lord Himself is absorbed in Samaadhi.

Awpy hI Awip Awip vrqY Awpy nwim Eumwhw rwm ]1]
aapae hee aap aap varathai aapae naam oumaahaa raam ||1||
He Himself, all by Himself, is all-pervading; He Himself blesses us with sincere love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

Awpy dIp loA dIpwhw ]
aapae dheep loa dheepaahaa ||
He Himself is the lamp, and the Light pervading all the worlds.

Awpy siqguru smuMdu mQwhw ]
aapae sathigur samu(n)dh mathhaahaa ||
He Himself is the True Guru; He Himself churns the ocean.

Awpy miQ miQ qqu kFwey jip nwmu rqnu Eumwhw rwm ]2]
aapae mathh mathh thath kadtaaeae jap naam rathan oumaahaa raam ||2||
He Himself churns it, churning up the essence; meditating on the jewel of the Naam, sincere love comes to the surface. ||2||

sKI imlhu imil gux gwvwhw ]
sakhee milahu mil gun gaavaahaa ||
O my companions, let us meet and join together, and sing His Glorious Praises.

gurmuiK nwmu jphu hir lwhw ]
guramukh naam japahu har laahaa ||
As Gurmukh, chant the Naam, and earn the profit of the Lord’s Name.

hir hir Bgiq idRVI min BweI hir hir nwmu Eumwhw rwm ]3]
har har bhagath dhrirree man bhaaee har har naam oumaahaa raam ||3||
Devotional worship of the Lord, Har, Har, has been implanted within me; it is pleasing to my mind. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, brings a sincere love. ||3||

Awpy vf dwxw vf swhw ]
aapae vadd dhaanaa vadd saahaa ||
He Himself is supremely wise, the greatest King.

gurmuiK pUMjI nwmu ivswhw ]
guramukh poo(n)jee naam visaahaa ||
As Gurmukh, purchase the merchandise of the Naam.

hir hir dwiq krhu pRB BwvY gux nwnk nwmu Eumwhw rwm ]4]4]10]
har har dhaath karahu prabh bhaavai gun naanak naam oumaahaa raam ||4||4||10||
O Lord God, Har, Har, bless me with such a gift, that Your Glorious Virtues seem pleasing to me; Nanak is filled with sincere love and yearning for the Lord. ||4||4||10||

This shabad which is been blessed by Siri Guru Ram Daas Ji is in the Jaithsree Raag; the Jaithsree Raag being a raag which can appease the mind, and the person listening to which longs for Waheguru. Guru Ram Daas Ji is saying,

aapae jogee jugath jugaahaa
Throughout the jugaahaa, throughout the ages, Waheguru has been the jogi, the yogi, jugath and the path. Guru Ram Daas Ji is saying a very important thing here. Guru Ram Daas Ji is saying, Waheguru meditates upon himself; Waheguru walks towards Himself on His own path; Waheguru is the yogi, Waheguru is the path of understanding. Waheguru is the One who is meditated upon and to meditate.

aapae nirabho thaarree laahaa
Waheguru Himself, the nirabho, the One with no fear, thaarree laahaa, is absorbed in His own samadhi.

aapae hee aap aap varathai aapae naam oumaahaa raam
aapae hee aap, aapae hee, by Himself, Wahguru ji aap, is Himself, aap varathai, varathai means to pervade through everything, Waheguru Himself pervades through everything, Waheguru Himself works through everyone, acts through everything; aapae naam, Waheguru Himself blesses us with the Naam and with the oumaahaa, with the love for the Naam.

aapae dheep loa dheepaahaa
aapae dheep, Waheguru Himself is the light, loa dheepaahaa, the one who gives dheepaahaa, light to the loa, to all the worlds, to all the universes; Waheguru is the light of the Universe.

aapae sathigur samu(n)dh mathhaahaa
Waheguru Himself is the sathigur, the True Guru; Waheguru is the True Guru who is samu(n)dh mathhaahaa, samu(n)dh means ocean, mathhaahaa means to churn, who churns the ocean, the ocean of what, the ocean of our mind.

aapae mathh mathh thath kadtaaeae jap naam rathan oumaahaa raam
Waheguru Himself working through the sathiguru, True Guru, mathh, mathh, churns again and again, then what does He do? thath kadtaaeae, He takes out the thath, kadtaaeae means to take out, thath means essence, the essence of all understanding, the essence of all love, which is what? jap naam rathan oumaahaa raam, meditate, to jap, upon the naam rathan, the diamond of the naam, of that eternal vibration of Waheguru; when that naam rathan is mediated upon, what happens? oumaahaa raam, sincere love inside us, true love comes flowing out.

sakhee milahu mil gun gaavaahaa
sakhee milahu, O my sakhee, O my companions, milahu, meet together, to do what? Mil means meet together, what will you do? Gun gaavaahaa, gaavaahaa means to sing, we will sing His Praises.

guramukh naam japahu har laahaa
As Gurmukhs, as ones who are focused upon the Guru, naam japahu, meditate upon the naam; har laahaa, and earn the profit of har, of Waheguru; earn the love of Waheguru.

har har bhagath dhrirree man bhaaee har har naam oumaahaa raam
Guru Ram Daas Ji is saying, har har bhagath dhrirree man bhaaee, in my man, in my mind, O my brother, in my mind the har har bhagath, bhagath means devotional love, devotional love for har har, for Waheguru has been dhrirree, has been implanted within me, man bhaaee, and is pleasing to my mind; har har naam oumaahaa raam, it is the har har naam, the name, the eternal vibration of Waheguru brings all this oumaahaa, this love within me.

aapae vadd dhaanaa vadd saahaa
Waheguru Himself is the vadd dhaanaa, means the most wise, vadd saahaa, the greatest King, the greatest Emperor.

guramukh poo(n)jee naam visaahaa
What does the Gurmukh do, the one who follows the Guru? He visaahaa, he takes the treasure, the poo(n)jee, the merchandise of the naam.

har har dhaath karahu prabh bhaavai gun naanak naam oumaahaa raam
har har dhaath karahu prabh, Waheguru ji if it bhaavai, if it pleases You, O Waheguru, give me such a gift that Your gun, Your Praises I may sing them forever. O Waheguru give me such a gift that your gun seem beautiful to me; naanak naam oumaahaa raam, Nanak is filled with oumaahaa, with true love, with yearning for Your naam, O Waheguru.

Guru Ram Daas Ji is saying to us Waheguru is working through all and the way to achieve true love is through the naam.

aapae jogee jugath jugaahaa || aapae nirabho thaarree laahaa || aapae hee aap aap varathai aapae naam oumaahaa raam ||1||
