Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
Today’s Hukam is from Guru Arjan Dev ji and it is the most simple hukam.
The first part of the hukam is a slok that talks about simran and the state of simran and Guruji simply says to us that unless you experience the state of simran which is remembrance, remembrance of what, remembrance of your true identity, remembrance that you are God, that God flows through every sound and atom and fiber of your being. That if you don’t experience that state of simran, your body is as well as dead.
So Guruji says practice Simran in the company of the Holy. He says that when you don’t remember your true identity, it is just as if your body was nothing, was ashes and that is a curse to not remember who you are.
Then he exhorts us to keep the lotus feet of God in our hearts and to practice Jap, to repeat the Naam. He says that when you remember who you are then your body blossoms.
The pourree says that God is everywhere, that all of the places of pilgrimage, all of the people who practice tapa, all of the people who are swamis, yogis, that God is within everyone and that God is everyone and that we only Jap, we only repeat the Naam by God’s blessing.
Then he goes on to say that we experience the mercy of God, the blessing of God and our fear disappears and we experience that experience of giving of each moment, the dawn of that gift of the treasure of giving.
Then he finishes the hukam by saying that when you live as Gurmukh, that your mukh is not your mukh, but the Guru’s mukh, then you are honored in the court of God and that when you experience this state of Grace this state of honoring, then you truly know God, you truly experience God within yourself.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
