Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

In the Hukam today, Guru ji describes the state of consciousness of the Bhagat. He describes that state of consciousness of living in awe and adoration of the One.

He describes that when you start to chant the Naam, that is what you want to do all the time. It resounds within you and it produces great peace of your consciousness.

He says that you come into this state of peace of protection and the Naam is the boat that carries us across the ocean of the world.

He exhorts us to live in this state of consciousness, this state of Bhakti of love of the One.

Then he speaks to his own mind and he says “O my mind, you are even blessed by death, when you remember that you are one with God through the power of the Guru’s bani, and that the gyan the inner knowledge wells up automatically inside when you repeat the Naam”.

Instead of your mind jumping around like a monkey, from one thing to another, and constantly being absorbed in the day to day affairs of the world, that that sense of deep love and devotion wells up, that hunger to penetrate deep into that peace of Naam and that this comes as you are absorbed into the Guru’s Shabad.

Then he says by traveling to many places you do not get rid of your doubt and duality and that being born again and again, people go through the cycle of birth and death.

Then he describes the state of gyan, natural wisdom. He says when you meditate on the Naam your knowledge becomes automatic.

He reflects that everyone in the world is attached to the love of maya and going through the cycles of birth and death. He just tells us to seek the protection of the Guru, to chant Naam, to be saved and when you do this, your mind becomes calm and under your control and a sense of deep and indescribable peace wells up within you and fills your body.

He says this makes the mind pure naturally, just like a jewel clearly reflects the light. Now what makes the jewel valuable is when it is faceted and the light clearly reflects and the mind becomes like that.

He says that by living in this state of awe and love of the One, through that deep, deep sense of devotion, focusing on meditation on the Lord’s Lotus Feet, the body and the mind become sacred. Each moment becomes sacred and the feelings of wanting things and personal accomplishment, these things fall away.

So in this Shabad, Guruji is describing how to control your own mind, how to come out of constant agitation and worry and thinking and to enter the protection of the Guru, by meditating on the whole Naam.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
