Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj is talking to us today in the Raag Bilaaval
Raag Bilaaval is a very light Raag, of happiness and joy and full of the peace of being intuitively light with God’s love.
Guru Arjan Dev ji talks to us and says kar dhhar masathak thhaapiaa naam dheeno dhaan, kar meaning hands, dhhar meaning upon, masathak forhead thhaapiaa means to place. God has blessed me and placed His hand upon my forhead. What does this mean? God has showered His Grace upon me and His Mercy. What has Waheguru ji done? naam the name of God, dheeno has given dhaan as a gift, Waheguru gave me the gift of his name.
What happened when I started repeating His name? safal saevaa paarabreham kee, I started doing saevaa, safal saevaa, safal means fruitful, saevaa means selfless service, paarabreham kee, means for the most powerful Waheguru. I started doing saevaa and anyone who performs any saevaa for Waheguru that saevaa is always fruitful, there is no way that can go without being fruitful. thaa kee nehee haan, thaa kee for that person, who does Waheguru ji’s saevaa, nehee haan, haan means any type of dishonor, any type of loss, no loss, no dishonor goes near that person, who performs saevaa for God; whose life is devoted in saevaa and simran to Waheguru, who gives up – when you give up living for yourself and you start living for God, then God will look after your honor, God will look after your losses. If you live for yourself then you have to deal with it. If you live for God, then it is in His hands and you leave it to Him.
aapae hee prabh raakhathaa bhagathan kee aan, aapae hee God Himself, prabh means Waheguru, God, raakhathaa means to save, to preserve, bhagathan means of the devotees, of God’s beloved ones, kee means of aan means honor, God Himself is the One who saves the honor of His devotees. He saved Bhagat Prahlad from the clutches of Harnakash, He saved Ganika, He saved so many Bhagats. He saved Bhagat Kabeer from the River Ganga, in many ways He saved His servants over the years, again and again, again and again.
jo jo chithavehi saadhh jan so laethaa maan, jo jo means whatever, chithavehi means to wish for, saadhh jan means holy servants, saadhh is connected to the word Sadhana, someone who has conquered His mind, is a saadhh, whatever the holy sadhus, whatever the holy servant wishes for so laethaa maan, so means that, laethaa means to take, maan means accept; God accepts their wishes, He grants these wishes, whatever the holy servants ask for. rehaao, pause and think about this, Guru ji says.
saran parae charanaarabi(n)dh, saran means in the protection, in the sanctuary, parae to look for, to fall into, charanaarabi(n)dh, charanaara means the Lotus feet, charanaarabi(n)dh, is the Lotus feet jan means servant. Servants fall into the protection, into the sanctuary of the Lotus feet of God. jan prabh kae praan and the servants, they are prabh kae, they are Waheguru ji’s pran, they are the breath of life of God in this world. See how high level God has given to His devotees, to His servants, to His beloved ones, they are the breath of God’s life, he says, the ones who are devoted to Waheguru.
sehaj subhaae, sehaj means in intuitive peace, subhaae means in a state of intuitive peace, naanak, O Nanak those people who are connected to God in a state of intuitive peace, milae, they meet with God. Guru ji says it is so natural the way they merge into God, it is like jothee joth samaan, samaan means merging into, jothee joth means as one light merges into another light. That’s how they fall in so naturally to God.
Guru Maharaj, Guru Arjan Dev ji is saying, if you live your life for yourself, you have to deal with your problems, if you live your life for God, then Waheguru will take them away Himself.
aapae hee prabh raakhathaa bhagathan kee aan, jo jo chithavehi saadhh jan so laethaa maan ||1|| rehaao ||
Jaikaara Gajawe Nihaal Ho Jawe, Sat Siri Akal, Gurbare Akal, Degh Teg Fateh!
Waheguru Ji Ka Khlasa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
