Bv swgr boihQ hir crx ]
bhav saagar bohith har charan.
The Lord’s Feet are the boat to cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

ismrq nwmu nwhI iPir mrx ]
simrat naam naahee fir maran.
Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he does not die again.

hir gux rmq nwhI jm pMQ ]
har gun ramat naahee jam panth.
Chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, he does not have to walk on the Path of Death.

mhw bIcwr pMc dUqh mMQ ]1]
mahaa beechaar panch dootah manth. ||1||
Contemplating the Supreme Lord, the five demons are conquered. ||1||

qau srxweI pUrn nwQ ]
ta-o sarnaa-ee pooran naath.
I have entered Your Sanctuary, O Perfect Lord and Master.

jMq Apny kau dIjih hwQ ]1] rhwau ]
jant apnay ka-o deejeh haath. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Please give Your hand to Your creatures. ||1||Pause||

simrit saastar bayd puraan.
The Simritees, Shaastras, Vedas and Puraanas

pwrbRhm kw krih viKAwx ]
paarbarahm kaa karahi vakhi-aan.
expound upon the Supreme Lord God.

jogI jqI bYsno rwmdws ]
jogee jatee baisno raamdaas.
The yogis, celibates, vaishnavs and followers of the ramdas path

imiq nwhI bRhm Aibnws ]2]
mit naahee barahm abinaas. ||2||
cannot find the limits of the Eternal Lord God. ||2||

krx plwh krih isv dyv ]
karan palaah karahi siv dayv.
Shiva and the gods lament and moan,

iqlu nhI bUJih AlK AByv ]
til nahee boojheh alakh abhayv.
but they do not understand even a tiny bit of the unseen and unknown Lord.

pRym Bgiq ijsu Awpy dyie ]
paraym bhagat jis aapay day-ay.
One whom the Lord Himself blesses with loving devotional worship,

jg mih ivrly kyeI kyie ]3]
jag meh virlay kay-ee kay-ay. ||3||
is very rare in this world. ||3||

moih inrgux guxu ikChU nwih ]
mohi nirgun gun kichhahoo naahi.
I am worthless, with absolutely no virtue at all;

srb inDwn qyrI idRstI mwih ]
sarab niDhaan tayree daristee maahi.
all treasures are in Your Glance of Grace.

nwnku dInu jwcY qyrI syv ]
naanak deen jaachai tayree sayv.
Nanak, the meek, desires only to serve You.
