Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:

sMqn kY sunIAq pRB kI bwq ]
sa(n)than kai suneeath prabh kee baath ||
I listen to God’s Teachings from the Saints.

kQw kIrqnu AwnMd mMgl Duin pUir rhI idnsu Aru rwiq ]1] rhwau ]
kathhaa keerathan aana(n)dh ma(n)gal dhhun poor rehee dhinas ar raath ||1|| rehaao ||
The Lord’s Sermon, the Kirtan of His Praises and the songs of bliss perfectly resonate, day and night. ||1||Pause||

kir ikrpw Apny pRiB kIny nwm Apuny kI kInI dwiq ]
kar kirapaa apanae prabh keenae naam apunae kee keenee dhaath ||
In His Mercy, God has made them His own, and blessed them with the gift of His Name.

AwT phr gun gwvq pRB ky kwm kRoD iesu qn qy jwq ]1]
aat(h) pehar gun gaavath prabh kae kaam krodhh eis than thae jaath ||1||
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Glorious Praises of God. Sexual desire and anger have left this body. ||1||

iqRpiq AGwey pyiK pRB drsnu AMimRq hir rsu Bojnu Kwq ]
thripath aghaaeae paekh prabh dharasan a(n)mrith har ras bhojan khaath ||
I am satisfied and satiated, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of God’s Darshan. I eat the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord’s sublime food.

charan saran naanak prabh thaeree kar kirapaa sa(n)thasa(n)g milaath ||2||4||84||

aUcw Agm Apwr pRBu kQnu n jwie AkQu ]
oochaa agam apaar parabh kathan na jaa-ay akath.
God is lofty, unapproachable and infinite. He is indescribable - He cannot be described.

naanak parabh sarnaagatee raakhan ka-o samrath. ||1||
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, who is All-capable to save us. ||1||

ijau jwnhu iqau rwKu hir pRB qyirAw ]
ji-o jaanhu ti-o raakh har parabh tayri-aa.
Save me, any way You can; O Lord God, I am Yours.

kaytay gan-o asaNkh avgan mayri-aa.
My demerits are uncountable; how many of them should I count?

AsMK Avgx Kqy Pyry inqpRiq sd BUlIAY ]
asaNkh avgan khatay fayray nitparat sad bhoolee-ai.
The sins and crimes I committed are countless; day by day, I continually make mistakes.

moh mgn ibkrwl mwieAw qau pRswdI GUlIAY ]
moh magan bikraal maa-i-aa ta-o parsaadee ghoolee-ai.
I am intoxicated by emotional attachment to Maya, the treacherous one; by Your Grace alone can I be saved.

lUk krq ibkwr ibKVy pRB nyr hU qy nyirAw ]
look karat bikaar bikh-rhay parabh nayr hoo tay nayri-aa.
Secretly, I commit hideous sins of corruption, even though God is the nearest of the near.

ibnvMiq nwnk dieAw Dwrhu kwiF Bvjl PyirAw ]1]
binvant naanak da-i-aa Dhaarahu kaadh bhavjal fayri-aa. ||1||
Prays Nanak, shower me with Your Mercy, Lord, and lift me up, out of the whirlpool of the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||
