Sahib Siri Guru Ram Das ji Maharaj speaks today in the Raag of happiness, the Bilaval Raag and Guru ji says

raag bilaaval mehlaa 4 ghar 3, shabad is written in the ghar 3, the third house of singing, of taal, of beat.

Guru ji says ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad, there is One eternal, creative, nourishing and destructive being, who is found through the satgur parsaad, the True Guru’s Grace.

udam mat parabh antarjaamee ji-o parayray ti-o karnaa udam mat , our udam, our efforts, our mat, and all our intelligence comes through prabh, our Lord, antarjaamee, who knows the hearts of all. ji-o parayray ti-o karnaa, as He parayray, as He wills, as He wants us to move, so we karnaa, so we do.

ji-o natoo-aa tant vajaa-ay tantee ti-o vaajeh jant janaa, natoo-aa means an instrumentalist, a musician, is tant vajaa-ay, is playing the strings of the tant, of the instrument. In the same way, Guru ji is saying, Waheguru ji is playing with the whole world.

jap man raam naam rasnaa, jap man, O my mind jap, meditate upon raam naam rasnaa, the Naam of Ram, God’s name with your rasnaa, with your tongue.

mastak likhat likhay gur paa-i-aa har hirdai har basnaa. ||1|| rahaa-o., mastak likhat, according to the likhat, the destiny written upon your mastak, upon your forhead, likhay gur paa-i-aa, through that you are paa-i-aa, you have found the Guru; har hirdai har basnaa, and the Guru has told you, the Guru has taught you, that har, Hari, Waheguru, hirdai has basnaa, Waheguru ji basnaa, abides in your hirdai, in your heart. rahaa-o, Guru ji says pause and think about this point.

maa-i-aa girsat bharmat hai paraanee rakh layvhu jan apnaa, maa-i-aa girsat, girsat means to be tangled, the paraanee, the mortal being is entangled and bharmat, is wandering around, in this maya, in this illusion. Guru ji says rakh layvhu jan apnaa, O Waheguru, please save jan apnaa, your humble servant.

ji-o par-hilaad harnaakhas garsi-o har raakhi-o har sarnaa Guru ji gives the example of Bhagat Prahlad and Guru ji says ji-o par-hilaad harnaakhas garsi-o, Prahlad was garsi-o, was in the hands of Harnakash, garsi-o means to be caught by; har raakhi-o har sarnaa, Waheguru ji, You saved Prahlad, You protected Prahlad, raakhi-o har sarnaa by giving him your protection, by giving him your sanctuary. The story of Prahlad is a long story in the end of which Waheguru ji ends up saving Prahlad. Guru ji says har juug juug bhagat upaia, paij rakhda aaiya raam raaje from the beginning of the creation Waheguru ji has been protecting His servants.

kavan kavan kee gat mit kahee-ai har kee-ay patit pavannaa, kavan kavan, how can I describe, how can I talk about gat mit kahee-ai, about Your gat about how You are, Your state, mit Your Highness, Your level of being, O Waheguru; how can I talk about these things? You bless me in such ways, har kee-ay patit pavannaa, O Waheguru ji how many patit, how many sinners, pavannaa have you purified, no one can count them.

oh dhovai dhor haath cham chamray har uDhaari-o pari-o sarnaa, oh dhovai dhor, dhor means dead animal, dhovai means to pull along, to carry, haath cham chamray, haath cham chamray means with the hands, cham chamray means to work on leather. Guru ji is talking about Bhagat Ravidas here and Guru ji is saying, You saved Bhagat Ravidas, har uDhaari-o pari-o sarnaa, how, because Bhagat Ravidas pari-o sarnaa, because he went into the sanctuary, the protection of Waheguru. That is why he was saved.

parabh deen da-i-aal bhagat bhav taaran ham paapee raakh papnaa, parabh deen da-i-aal, O Waheguru, You are da-i-aal, You are merciful to the deen, to the weak, bhagat bhav taaran and You can taaran, You can carry across Your bhagat, Your devotees across this ocean bhav, of fear; ham paapee, I am a paapee, I am a sinner, raakh papnaa, save me from papnaa, papnaa means sin

har daasan daas daas ham karee-ahu jan naanak daas daasannaa, O Waheguru ji, make me the daasan daas, the slave of the slave of your slaves, daasan daas daas ham karee-ahu jan naanak daas daasannaa, jan naanak, this servant Nanak is always a slave of your slaves, O Waheguru. Please keep me in Your protection.

So, what Guru ji is saying here is only those are saved, who enter His protection. Let us pray, let us do ardas, that we can enter into Waheguru ji’s protection, then He saves us and accepts us as His children.

jap man raam naam rasnaa, mastak likhat likhay gur paa-i-aa har hirdai har basnaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
