Waheguru ji ka Khalsa! Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

Satguru Amardas ji Maharaj, the embodiment of seva in the house of Guru Nanaak, speaks to us today

sajan milae sajanaa jin sathagur naal piaar The sajan the friends milae meet together. Jin Who? (those who) Who have sathagur naal piaar have love. For whom? Naam. (who have love for) sathagur, the true Guru.

mil preetham thinee dhhiaaeiaa sachai praem piaarmil preetham
Meeting their beloved, preetham, what do they do? They dhhiaaei, meditate, they focus upon.  What do they focus upon? praem piaar, they focus  with complete love upon sachai the true Guru, upon Sat Naam, with complete love of the Satguru.

man hee thae man maaniaa gur kai sabadh apaar Their minds, these waves of thought in our mind that continally wash around and over man hee thae man maaniaa their minds have been appeased. There is no up and down; they are at one level gur kai sabadh apaar through the apaar  the limitless the infinite shabad word of the Guru.

eaehi sajan milae n vishhurrehi j aap maelae karathaar These friends sajan who have been milae united can never be n vishhurrehi can never be separated again if j aap maelae karathaar if karathaar, the creator being, Himself, meets them together.

eikanaa dharasan kee paratheeth n aaeeaa sabadh n karehi veechaar eikanna Some people do not have faith paratheeth in dharasan, in the vision of the Guru. sabadh n karehi veechaar because they do not comtemplate, veechar, they do not comtemplate, they do not dwell on the shabad, the word of the Guru.

vishhurriaa kaa kiaa vishhurrai jinaa dhoojai bhaae piaar Those people  who are separated vishhurriaa what else can they be separated from. They are continually  separated from the eternal source of Peace. Why? Because they are completely in love with duality.

manamukh saethee dhosathee thhorrarriaa dhin chaar The friendship of the manmukh, with the follower of the mind not of the Guru, only lasts for a few thhorrarriaa a few short days, a ahin chaar, a tiny amount of time.

eis pareethee thuttadhee vilam n hovee eith dhosathee chalan vikaar Guru ji says, eis pareethee, the bond of friendship thuttadhee vilam can not only break within a second, vilam n hovee, it doesn’t take time for the friendship of a manumukh to break.  Eith dhosathee chalan vikaar, through this friendship, chalan vikaar, you become full of sin. If you associate with people who are full of sins, something bad will befall to you one day. On the other hand, If you associate with those people who are full of virtue, you will pick up a few virtues along your way.

jinaa a(n)dhar sachae kaa bho naahee naam n karehi piaar Those peoole who do not have true fear of sachee, of Waheguru within them,  naahee naam n karehi, in the word of Waheguru  a(n)dhar within in them, those people have no piaar, no love for the Naam.

naanak thin sio kiaa keechai dhosathee j aap bhulaaeae karathaar Why? kiaa, For what reason should you create friendship with dhosathee those people. j aap bhulaaeae karathaar, because karathaar, because Waheguru Himself bhulaaeae has put these people on the deranged paths.

Curu Amardas ji says eik sadhaa eikathai ra(n)g rehehi thin kai ho sadh balihaarai jaao On the one hand you have those people eikathai ra(n)g rehehi who are completely colored in the color of the Lord, are forever colored in the color of the one Lord of Wahehguru. And  for those people thin kai ho sadh balihaarai I am a sacrifice.

than man dhhan arapee thin ko niv niv laago paae To those people I dedicate than my body, man my mind and dhhan my worth. I arapee, I sacrifice all for them. thin ko niv niv laago paae.  I bow again and again, and I touch their feet, I fall at their feet.  Laago paae means at their feet.

thin miliaa man sa(n)thokheeai thrisanaa bhukh sabh jaae In meeting thin miliaa those people my mind man is at peace, sa(n)thokheeai, in harmony. Why? Because thrisanaa bhukh sabh jaae. Sabh means all.  All of the hunger bhukh within me and thrisanaa greed, all is past.

naanak naam rathae sukheeeae sadhaa sachae sio liv laae Those people who are colored in the naam are sukheeeae sadhaa forever at peace sio liv laae because they are lovingly attached to that Sat Naam to that true One.

so sathigur piaaraa maerai naal hai jithhai kithhai maino leae shhaddaaee Never think that the Satguru is far away from you, Guru Amardas ji says, so sathigur piaaraa, that piaaraa, that beloved  Waheguru is forever with me. jithhai kithhai maino leae shhaddaaee. Jithhai kithhai, wherever I go, shhaddaee, he will save me.

naanak gur vittahu vaariaa jin har naam dheeaa maerae man kee aas puraaee Oh! nanaamk vittahu vaariaa I am a sacrifice to the Guru. Why? jin har naam dheeaa. Because he blessed me with the Naam with name of Hari, of Wahegurue. And what happened? naam dheeaa maerae man kee aas puraaee. By repeating the naam, maerae man kee aas puraaee. desires of my mind have been fulfilled.

In this hukamnama,  Let us be a sacrifice of our Guru. Let us be a sacrifice to the one who has blessed us at all times, and let us join those friends who will lead us to Waheguru.

One line which could sum up this hukamnama from another salok is this/ It is in raag  Maaroo on Ang 1102 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and it is by Guru Arjan Dev ji. And Guru Arjan Dev ji says,

naanak kacharriaa sio thorr dtoodt sajan sa(n)th pakiaa ||
O Nanak, break away from the false, and seek out the Saints, your true friends.

oue jeeva(n)dhae vishhurrehi oue mueiaa n jaahee shhorr ||1||
The false shall leave you, whilst you are still alive; but the Saints shall not forsake you, even when you are dead. ||1||

They won’t leave you even when you are dead.
