Guru Ramdasji Maharaj speaks in the Jaitsaree raag. Guru Ramdasji says,

Mil satsangat sang guraahaa

Join with the congregation of truth, with those who focus on the truth. Where will you find this? In the presence of the Guru, in Guru’s sangat. Sometimes we sit before the Guru but our agenda is not the same as Guru’s agenda! Our agenda is our own and we are pushing our own ideas, we do not look at the Guru’s shabad. But Guruji is saying, “Meet with that satsangat which is focused in the Guru’s charan upon the Guru.”

Ponjee naam Gurmukh vaysaahaa.

In this way be a gurmukh and face towards the Guru through thick and thin, mentally, spiritually and physically. And what will you get? You will get the treasure, the merchandise of Naam!

Har har kirpaa Dhaar maDhusoodan mil satsang omaahaa raam.

MaDhusoodan means the destroyer of the demons. But of which demons? Kaam; lust, krodh; anger, lobh; greed, moh; attachment, ahnkaar; ego. Guruji is saying, “Oh har har, oh nourisher of the world, Waheguru bless me with your grace. You are the destroyer of the physical, mental and spiritual demons of Kaam; lust, krodh; anger, lobh; greed, moh; attachment, ahnkaar; ego. Join me with the true congregation of Gursikhs and bless me with that love I may go into the satsangat

Har gun banee sarvan sunaahaa.

“Let me, with my ears, listen to the bani, the praises of Waheguru”, Oh Guru sahib.

Kar kirpaa satguroo milaahaa

Please do kirpa upon me and bless me with your grace, unite me with the true Guru

Gun gaavah gun bolah banee har gun jap omaahaa raam

May I sing your praises, may I speak your praises, your bani, your shabad, your word. By meditating upon your gun, your virtues, your praises, may this love well up inside me.

Sabh tirath varat jag punn tolaahaa.

Guru sahib ji says, “I have measured up all the tirath, of the acts of pilgrimage, all of the varat; the acts of fast, all of the jag pun, everything you can imagine, all these tolaahaa; all these rituals but har har naam na pujeh pujaahaa. None of them measure up to the Naam, none of them are anywhere near upon the meditation upon Naam.

Har har atul tol at bhaaree gurmat jap omaahaa raam

That name of Lord, hari hari, is beyond any measuring. It is greater than anything else. So with love in your heart, with yearning for Waheguru in your heart, the yearning through this shabad permeates through the Jaitsaree raag as well. Guru ji is saying, “With this love in your heart follow the Guru’s teaching.”

Sabh karam Dharam har naam japaahaa

All righteous living is found through meditation of the hari Naam. kilvikh mail paap Dhovaahaa. With kilvikh all your dirt, all your sins, all your mistakes will be washed away with through the Naam.

Deen da-i-aal hohu jan oopar dayh naanak naam omaahaa raam

Oh Waheguru! Be merciful upon this meek being, upon this servant. Oh Waheguru, bless Nanak with the omaahaa, with love and yearning and longing for your Naam.

So Guru sahibji’s shabad today has a great yearning, a great pyaas, a great thirst. May we be blessed through Ramdasji kirpa with that grace, with that Omaahaa

Ponjee naam Gurmukh vaysaahaa.

Har har kirpaa Dhaar maDhusoodan mil satsang omaahaa raam.

Khushian De Jaikaree Gazawe!
Nihal Ho Jawe!
Sat Siri Akal!
Gur Bar Akal!
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
