Bhagat Namdev ji Maharaj speaks to us in the Tilang Raag today and in the Tilang Raag Bhagat ji says:
halae yaaraa(n) halae yaaraa(n) khusikhabaree
This shabad was sung by Bhagat ji when God appeared before him in the city of Dwarka in the form of a Pathan. Bhagat ji recognized that it was the Almighty, who had taken this form just to bestow him with darshan. And, Bhagat ji recited this shabad, halae yaaraa(n) halae yaaraa(n) khusikhabaree, O my friend halae yaaraa(n), O my friend khusikhabaree, you bring with you khusikhabaree, great news that you have come to bless me with your vision.
bal bal jaa(n)o ho bal bal jaa(n)o
I am bal bal, I am sacrifice again and again – Bhagat ji says I am a sacrifice again and again, again and again to You.
neekee thaeree bigaaree aalae thaeraa naao
bigaaree, means to be a slave, to be a slave to you, O Waheguru is neekee, is pure, is divine, is blessed; only those who are blessed, are the slaves of God. Otherwise what are we slaves of, we are slaves of desire, we are slaves of anger, we are slaves of hatred, we are slaves of this material world around us. Only those people who have great blessings are slaves of God, of the Almighty; aalae thaeraa naao, and Your naao, Your name is aalae, is the highest, is the highest thing in this age, is Your name, O Waheguru.
Rehaao
Bhagat ji says Pause and think about this.
kujaa aamadh kujaa rafathee kujaa mae rave
Bhagat ji is asking Waheguru to give him darshan, kujaa aamadh, where do you come from? kujaa rafathee, where have You been? kujaa mae rave, and where are You going? O my beloved, tell me where You are going?
dhvaarikaa nagaree raas bugoee, in the nagare
in the city of Dwarka, raas bugoee, tell me of your raas, tell me of your essence, tell me of Your beautiful games You play with the world.
Where has Waheguru come from? Waheguru is aad sach, jugadh sach, hai bhee sach, Nanak hose bhee sach. And, this is the Truth, this is the game, this is the play that Bhagat ji is talking about.
khoob thaeree pagaree meet(h)ae thaerae bol
in the form of Pathan, Waheguru has dastaar tied upon His head, and Bhagat ji is saying khoob thaeree pagaree, Your pagaree, Your dastaar is khoob is beautiful, meet(h)ae thaerae bol, and Your bol, Your words are exalted, they are sweet, are meet(h)ae.
dhvaarikaa nagaree kaahae kae magol
Bhagat ji asks Waheguru, who has taken the form of a Pathan, why has You taken the form of a mughal, magol, in this nagaree, in this city of Dwarka, O my beloved.
cha(n)dha(n)aee hajaar aalam eaekal khaanaa(n)
O my beloved, You are the aalam, You are the Lord, You are the Master of cha(n)dha(n)aee hajaar, thousands of worlds; eaekal khaanaa(n), just Yourself, eaekal means only, Waheguru, You Yourself are the Master and the Lord of thousands of millions of worlds. Patalaan patal lakh aagasan aagas.
ham chinee paathisaah saa(n)valae baranaa(n)
You are my paathisaah, You are my King, O saa(n)valae, O beautiful, dark skinned Lord, O my Waheguru, You are my Lord and King forever and forever.
asapath gajapath nareh nari(n)dh
You are asapath, You are the Lord of the asa, of the Sun, gajapath, of Indra, nareh nari(n)dh, You are the King of all men; You are the King of all. Back in the olden days, they used to have the aspath, the horse army, the cavalry, the gajapath, the elephant army and the narpath, the infantry, made up of human beings. What Bhagat ji is saying to Waheguru ji here is You are the King of all army, You are the greatest General, you are the Greatest King, You are everything.
naamae kae svaamee meer muka(n)dh
Swaamee is Lord Master of Namdev is mukand, is liberator of all, meer means king and muka(n)dh means liberator, is the King who liberates all.
In this shabad today, Bhagat Namdev is sharing with us the experience of seeing God, of having darshan of God. May we be blessed with Bhagat ji’s words throughout the day and may we take on this Bhagat ji’s love for God, the Almighty.
