In the Sorath raag Guru Ramdas Ji speaks to us and says, “ Aapay sayvaa laa-idaa pi-aaraa aapay bhagat omaahaa.”
Waheguru himself puts us into His selfless service. Beloved Wahguruji Himself blesses us with His service. Waheguru ji blesses us with the love, omaahaa, of devotional worship of Akalpurakh, of Waheguru. He Himself blesses us with His sewa and with His bhagti. Aapay gun gaavaa-idaa pi-aaraa aapay sabad samaahaa.
Waheguru himself through us is singing His praises. Waheguru Himself blesses us with the gift of singing His praises. Waheguru, the beloved one blesses us with the merging into the shabad, with merging into His eternal vibration.
Aapay laykhan aap likhaaree aapay laykh likhaahaa.
Waheguru Himself is the pen and Waheguru Himself is the writer. Waheguru Himself writes down His own story, His own words. Mayray man jap raam naam omaahaa.
Oh my mind, meditate upon the Name of Waheguru with love, with joy, with happiness. An-din anad hovai vadbhaagee lai gur poorai har laahaa.
Day and night you will be in divine ecstasy through great fortune. Through the true Guru, through the perfect Guru take the profit, take the wealth of the Name of Hari, of the name of Waheguru.
Rahaa-o.
Guruji says, “Pause and think about this.”
Aapay gopee kaan hai pi-aaraa ban aapay ga-oo charaahaa.
Guru Maharaj ji says, “Waheguru Himself is the milk-maids and Waheguru himself is Krishna. Waheguru Himself, in the woods, herds the cows.” Aapay saaval sundraa pi-aaraa aapay vans vajaahaa.
Waheguru Himself is the blue skinned handsome Karishna. Waheguru Himself plays the flute. Kuvlee-aa peerh aap maraa-idaa pi-aaraa kar baalak roop pachaahaa.
Waheguruji Himself took the form of a child to do what? To destroy Kuvlee-aa peerh. In the methodology there was a mad-elephant known as Kuvlee-aa peerh.
Aap akhaarhaa paa-idaa pi-aaraa kar vaykhai aap chojaahaa.
Waheguru Himself has set up this stage, this performance, Oh beloved one. Waheguru Himself takes part in this play, does various things in the play but He watches as well. Kar baalak roop upaa-idaa pi-aaraa chandoor kans kays maaraahaa.
Waheguru Himself was working through the child form when He destroyed the demons chandoor kans and kays. Aapay hee bal aap hai pi-aaraa bal bhannai moorakh mugdhaahaa.
Maharaj is telling us what Waheguru ji is. Waheguru ji Hiimself is the power. He Himself is the beloved one. Waheguruji Himself is one who breaks down the power of the fools, of the foolish ones.
Sabh aapay jagat upaa-idaa pi-aaraa vas aapay jugat hathaahaa.
All of this world is created by beloved Waheguru. Waheguruji Himself holds the power of this whole world, of all these ages. Gal jayvrhee aapay paa-idaa pi-aaraa ji-o parabh khinchai ti-o jaahaa.
Waheguruji Himself puts the chain around our necks. Wherever and in whichever direction Waheguru pulls us we must go. Jo garbai so pachsee pi-aaray jap naanak bhagat samaahaa.
In the last line Guru Ramdas ji says, “Anyone who goes into ego will be destroyed by the beloved. So Guru tells us to avoid ego and meditate upon Waheguru. Then like Nanak you will absorbed into devotional love for Akal Purakh that will take away all your ego, all your desires, all your attachment.”
So Guru Ramdasji is telling us that Waheguruji is working through everything. Waheguruji is working through every person. May we join ourselves into His bhagti, into his sewa so we too may see Waheguruji working and all His glory.
Mayray man jap raam naam omaahaa. An-din anad hovai vadbhaagee lai gur poorai har laahaa. Rahaa-o.
Jaikaree Gazawe!
