 You are the Giver, O Lord, O Cherisher, my Master, my Husband Lord.

Satguru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj speaks in the dhanansaaree raag today, and Guru Arjan Dev ji says to Akaal Purakh:   Akaal Purakh!

thum dhaathae. You are dhatthae, the Giver, the ever-generous one. t(h)aakur, My Lord,  prathipaalak naaeik, You are the One who is the prathipaalak, who nourishes the whole world. Naaeik, You are my only one Husband Lord. Khasam hamaarae, My Lord forever and ever!

nimakh nimakh. Every moment, every second, thum hee prathipaalahu, You are the One who looks after me.  ham baarik, I am Your child. Your ham baarik. thumarae dhhaarae, And I only look for You for support, to You for dhhaarae. I only look to You for support.

jihavaa eaek.  I have only one tongue Guruji, one jihavaa.  kavan gun keheeai. Kavan. Which of Your great gun, Your great virtues, keheeai, can I describe? I cannot describe any of Your virtues. There are so many! It is beyond any counting. How can one tongue sing the infinite praises?

Baesumaar You have no end, no sumaar.  baea(n)th, You are infinite, suaamee, my Lord!  thaero a(n)th n kin hee leheeai.  Hee leheeai, Guruji says, There is no way I can find Your a(n)th, I can find Your limit, I can find Your end.

Rehaao. Guruji says, Pause and think about this.

kott paraadhh hamaarae kha(n)ddahu. Kha(n)ddahu, You destroy, kott, my thousands, my millions of sins.  anik bidhhee samajhaavahu, And You teach me, You samajhaavahu, You try and make me learn. You try and teach me. You try and give me wisdom, anik, in many ways. Anik means boundless.

ham agiaan. I am so ignorant. I am so full of the darkness of ignorance,  alap math thhoree. I have math thhoree, I have no understanding at all.  thum aapan biradh rakhaavahu. But Your biradh, Your innate nature is to rakhaavahu, is to save me. Please save me! Let us do ardas together as a panth, in front of Waheguru ji, that we may be blessed with the understanding that only Waheguru is our Saviour. Only Waheguru is our hope. Only Waheguru is our Companion forever. May we be blessed with this kirpa, through the grace of Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj!

thumaree saran. Oh Waheguru ji! I have come in to Your saran, into Your sanctuary. thumaaree aasaa, And You are now my only hope, forever and forever!  thum hee sajan suhaelae. You are my sajan. You are my friend. Suhaelae, my friend who will be with me forever and forever.

raakhahu raakhanehaar dhaeiaalaa. Raakhahu. Please save me Waheguruji! raakhanehaar dhaeiaalaa, Oh merciful Lord, who is raakhanehaar, Who is the Savior, Who is the Liberator of the world,  naanak ghar kae golae. Naanak is the golae, is the servant, is the slave of Your house, of Your ghar.

Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj is telling us today that there is no way that we can find the end to Waheguruji’s bounties, to Waheguruji’s virtues.
