Nanak, the song-bird, begs for the Ambrosial Water; O Lord, shower Your Mercy upon him, and bless him with Your Praise. ||8||2||

Satgur Nanak Devji Maharaj speaks their Amrit bachan, their amrit mukhvaak in the goojree raag today. Guru sahib ji says, “ Kavan kavan jaacheh parabh daatay taa kay ant na pareh sumaar. “All of those people who beg from Waheguru, the great giver, the greatest most charitable giver, I (Guru Nanak Devji) cannot find an end to their number, I cannot count them all.” Jaisee bhookh ho-ay abh antar tooN samrath sach dayvanhaar. Oh Waheguru you are all knowing, you are the true one, you are the giver to all. Whatever desires they have within their hearts, within them, Oh Waheguru you are the one who gives to them.

Ai jee jap tap sanjam sach aDhaar. Oh my mind, meditation, having discipline, looking after oneself/disciplining one self and truth are my support. Har har naam deh sukh paa-ee-ai tayree bhagat bharay bhandaar. Oh my Waheguru, oh my Sahibji please give me the Name of Waheguru. Then what will happen? I will find eternal peace. Your treasures are full for ever. Rahaa-o. Guruji says, “Pause and think about this.”

Sunn samaadh raheh liv laagay aykaa aykee sabad beechaar. Some souls remain absorbed in complete samaadhi, with their mind being completely attached to you Waheguru. They meditate upon the ik, upon that shabad, upon that understanding, upon that one shabad Ik Oan Kaar. Jal thal dharan gagan tah naahee aapay aap kee-aa kartaar. In that state of sunn samadhee there is no water, there is no land, there is no dharan, there is none of this land, there is no sky. There is only kartaar, the creator Lord, within that state of sunn Samadhi, within that state of complete meditation.

Naa tad maa-i-aa magan na chhaa-i-aa naa sooraj chand na jot apaar. There is no maya, there is no illusion like shadow of maya, there is no light from the sun or the moon. Sarab darisat lochan abh antar aykaa nadar so taribhavan saar. Instead, the eye which looks within, the eyes which look into our soul are awaked we see that oneness inside, by just one glance we can see the three worlds. Nanak saee akaryaan beyann. Those eyes which see the master, which see the oneness, Guru Nanak Devji is saying, “Those eyes can see everything in that state of oneness, in that state of sunn Samadhi. In that state of focus, nothing else remains but just Waheguru.”

Pavan paanee agan tin kee-aa barahmaa bisan mahays akaar. Waheguru created the earth, water and air. He also created barahmaa; the creator deity, He created bisan. According to metholgy barahmaa is the nourishing deity and mahays; shiva, is the destructive deity. This whole universe is created by Waheguru. Sarbay jaachik toon parabh daataa daat karay apunai beechaar. All of these barahmaa, bisans, all of these deities, the whole world is a begger. Waheguru only you are the great giver and you only give your gifts according to your own thoughts, according to your own considerations, according to your own hukam, oh Waheguru. You give our your gifts according to your will not according to anyone else’s.

Kot taytees jaacheh parabh naa-ik dayday tot naahee bhandaar. The 330 million Gods are all begging from Waheguru, the Lord and master. There is no end to Waheguruji’s treasure even though He keeps giving and giving. Oondhai bhaandai kachh na samaavai seedhai amrit parai nihaar. If the vessel, if the pot is upside down then nothing can fill it! if you put a pot upside down then what can fill it? Nothing! But Guruji says, “ Sidh samaadhee antar jaacheh ridh sidh jaach karahi jaikaar.” If the pot is facing the right way up then amrit will fall into it. Its just like us if we walk into the Gurudwara and we do chuglee, we do nindiya, we slander people, we don’t listen to the katha keertan then nothing will go into us. But if we go there and we sit there “ Savdhaan, eekaagar cheet, sit completely focused” as Guru Arjun Devji says in Sukhmani Sahib, “only then will we receive the amrit ras of the immortal nector.”

Sidh samaadhee antar jaacheh ridh sidh jaach karahi jaikaar. The Sidhaas, the Yogis, sitting in samadhee, even they beg from Waheguru. What do they beg for? The beg for riddhian, siddhian, for miraulour powers. Even they only proclaim the greatness of God. Jaisee pi-aas ho-ay man antar taiso jal dayveh parkaar. Guruji says, “According to the thirst which you have within your mind Waheguruji blesses you with that type of water.” What Guruji is saying is, “The gifts which you ask from Waheguru are the gifts which He will give to you. If you ask Waheguru for wealth He will bless you with wealth. If you ask Waheguruji for sons and daughters He will bless you with them. If you ask Waheguruji for Naam you will be blessed with Naam!”

Baday bhaag gur sayveh apunaa bhayd naahee gurdayv muraar. Only through great fortune will we serve our Guru, our Waheguru. Oh listen my friends, “There is no difference between the Guru and God. They are one!” Taa ka-o kaal naahee jam johai boojheh antar sabad beechaar. That person cannot be attacked by the messengers of death and death cannot touch them! Touch who? Those people who understand the wisdom of the shabad inside. Ab tab avar na maaga-o har peh naam niranjan deejai pi-aar. Don’t ask for all these other things from Waheguru, instead ask for Naam niranjan deejai pi-aar, ask for love with the Name of that Waheguru who is beyond all this maya. Naanak chaatrik amrit jal maagai har jas deejai kirpaa dhaar. Nanak, the song bird is crying out for the ambrosial nector of your name, the ambrosial nector of Naam Waheguru. It’s not crying out for anything else, not for any wealth but bless me with hari jas, with Your praise, Your simran, Your seva.

In the hukamnama today Guru Nanak Devji is saying, “Everyone begs from Waheguru. Everyone begs for something. But what are you going to beg for? Are you going to be the one begging for wealth? Are you going to be the one begging for all those other worldly commodities? Or are you going to be the one begging for pyaar with the Naam, as Guru Nanak Devji is asking for in this shabad.”

Ab tab avar na maaga-o har peh naam niranjan deejai pi-aar. Naanak chaatrik amrit jal maagai har jas deejai kirpaa dhaar.
