Satgurji, Guru Amardasji speaks to us today in the Wadahaans raag, on Ang 583 of Siri Guru Granth Sahibjio. Maharaj ji says, “ Suniahu Ka(N)Th Mehaeleeho Pir Saevihu Sabadh Veechaar.” Oh brides of Lord Waheguru, listen to what I have to say, “How can you serve your Lord? You can by understand the shabad, by contemplating, by meditating upon the shabad, upon the Guru’s shabad, upon the Guru’s mantra.” Avaganava(N)Thee Pir N Jaanee Mut(H)Ee Rovai Ka(N)Th Visaar. The bride who is full of demerits, who is full of sin she doesn’t get to know, she doesn’t get to understand her Lord Waheguru. She cries out because she has forgotten her Lord Waheguru.
Rovai Ka(N)Th Sa(N)Maal Sadhaa Gun Saar Naa Pir Marai N Jaaeae. She cries out because she thinks of how great Waheguru is yet she still commits those sins. She cries because she knows that Waheguru is full of virtue. Waheguru, the husband Lord, never dies or never leaves, He is always there. He is permanent, eternal. Guramukh Jaathaa Sabadh Pashhaathaa Saachai Praem Samaaeae. The ones who follow the Guru completely understand Waheguru. They get to merge into Waheguru because they have recognised Waheguru through the shabad, through the Guru’s word and through true love.
Jin Apanaa Pir Nehee Jaathaa Karam Bidhhaathaa Koorr Mut(H)Ee Koorriaarae. Those who have not understood, those who have not meditated upon their husband Lord who is the creator of all destiny, of all actions, those people all false themselves and they are under the control of falsehood. Suniahu Ka(N)Th Mehaeleeho Pir Saevihu Sabadh Veechaarae. Guru Amardasji says again, “Oh listen, brides of Lord Waheguru, serve Waheguru by meditating upon, by contemplating, by doing veechar of the shabad.”
Sabh Jag Aap Oupaaeioun Aavan Jaan Sa(N)Saaraa. Waheguru has created this world Himself which comes and goes. Maaeiaa Mohu Khuaaeian Mar Ja(N)Mai Vaaro Vaaraa. The attachment to this illusion of the world has ruined the world, has ruined many people. It’s this attachment which means that people die and they are born again and again. Mar Ja(N)Mai Vaaro Vaaraa Vadhhehi Bikaaraa Giaan Vihoonee Moot(H)Ee. People die and they are born again and again which causes their sins to increase instead of decreasing! Without true understanding, without true knowledge the whole world is in this illusion, is in this doubt.
Bin Sabadhai Pir N Paaeiou Janam Gavaaeiou Rovai Avaguniaaree Jhoot(H)Ee. Without the Guru’s word, you will not find the husband Lord Waheguru. Guruji says, “Your life will be wasted! That soul bride who is full of sin is ultimately is jhooti because she has attached herself to falsehood and not to the true Waheguru. She ultimately cries out and regrets. Pir Jagajeevan Kis No Roeeai Rovai Ka(N)Th Visaarae. My Waheguru is the life of the whole world. He is the one who gives life to the whole world, who shall I cry for when He is permeating through everything? Those people who forget their Husband Lord they cry, they have something to cry about.
Sabh Jag Aap Oupaaeioun Aavan Jaan Sa(N)Saarae. Guru Amardasji says, “Waheguru has created this world Himself and also created this game of coming on to this earth and going.” So Pir Sachaa Sadh Hee Saachaa Hai Naa Ouhu Marai N Jaaeae. That Waheguru, that Husband Lord is true. He is always true, forever and ever. “ Aad Sach, Jugad Sach, Hai Bhi Sach, Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach” as Guru Nanak Devji says in the mool mantra. He neither dies nor leaves because He is permeating through all for ever, eternally.
Bhoolee Firai Dhhan Eiaaneeaa Ra(N)Dd Bait(H)Ee Dhoojai Bhaaeae. The soul bride who is ignorant, who is full of doubt, she wonders around full of doubt. Ra(N)Dd Bait(H)Ee Dhoojai Bhaaeae Maaeiaa Mohi Dhukh Paaeae Aav Ghattai Than Shheejai. In the love of attachment to this duality, of this illusion she sits like a widow, the soul bride purposefully remains away from her Husband Lord Waheguru. How does she do this? She gets entangled in maya! She gets entangled in the illusions of this world and doesn’t focus on the truth, on Waheguru. When she is sitting like a widow through attachment to this illusions around the soul bride she is afflicted by pain. Her life passes away and her body withers away. As you get older time goes. You get older things change, your body withers away. But those who have eternal connection within them to eternal Waheguru, for them it doesn’t matter if they grow old and their body withers away.
Jo Kishh Aaeiaa Sabh Kishh Jaasee Dhukh Laagaa Bhaae Dhoojai. Guru Amardasji says, “Everything that comes leaves, passes away, withers. Only those people will be afflicted by pain who are attached to this illusion.” If you attach yourself to this illusion then when the illusion breaks of course you will be full of pain. Jamakaal N Soojhai Maaeiaa Jag Loojhai Lab Lobh Chith Laaeae. The soul bride doesn’t see, doesn’t understand that one day messenger of death is going to take us away. Instead that person involves themselves completely in this illusion. They attach their consciousness to greed and more greed and attachment.
So Pir Saachaa Sadh Hee Saachaa Naa Ouhu Marai N Jaaeae. Guru Amardasji says, “That Husband Lord Waheguru is true now and will be true for ever. He doesn’t die or leave us.” Eik Rovehi Pirehi Vishhu(N)Neeaa A(N)Dhhee Naa Jaanai Pir Naalae. Guru Amardasji says, “Some of the soul brides cry because they are separated from her Husband Lord Waheguru. But she is blind, she doesn’t understand that Waheguru is with her!” Gur Parasaadhee Saachaa Pir Milai A(N)Thar Sadhaa Samaalae. But there is only one way you’ll understand this, as Guru Arjun Devji says in Sukhmani Sahib, “ Gur parsaad bharam ko naas. Only through the Guru’s word can this doubt be removed.” In Japji sahib Guru Nanak Devji says, “ Kiv Sachiara hoyiae kiv kooray tutay paal. How can we become sachiaraa?” Then Guruji answers Himself, “ Hukam rajai chalana Nanak likhiya naal. You must follow the hukam.” Here Guru Amardasji is saying, “Through the Guru’s grace, through the Guru’s words, you will be united with your true Husband Lord. Meditate upon Him always deep inside you.”
Pir A(N)Thar Samaalae Sadhaa Hai Naalae Manamukh Jaathaa Dhoorae. Those people who meditate upon, those soul brides who constantly meditate on their Husband Lord inside, they realise He is with them always and always. But those who follow their mind, those who do not follow the path of the Guru they think that Waheguruji is far away! Eihu Than Rulai Rulaaeiaa Kaam N Aaeiaa Jin Khasam N Jaathaa Hadhoorae. This body rolls into the dust and it is totally useless. For those people who have not understood that their Husband Lord is with them at all time, there is no point of this body. It will be just rolled into this dust and it will be useless. But for the Gurmukhs, “ Gurmukh laha lai gayee manmukh chalay mool gavai jeo!” as Guru Arjun Devji says in Sriraag. The Gurmukhs take the fruit away of this human life but the manmukhs they loose even what they had to be in with.
Naanak Saa Dhhan Milai Milaaee Pir A(N)Thar Sadhaa Samaalae. Oh Nanak that soul bride is united in union with Waheguru if deep within she meditates for ever on Her Lord. Eik Rovehi Pirehi Vishhu(N)Neeaa A(N)Dhhee N Jaanai Pir Hai Naalae. In the last words of this shabad Guru Amradasji says, “Some weep some cry because they believe they are separated from their Husband Lord. They are blind because they do not know that Waheguruji is within everything.” As Guru Gobind Singh Ji says in the bani of Chaupai Sahib from chritar pakhyan in Siri Dasam Granth Sahib, “ Ghat ghat ke antar ki jaanat bhalay buray ki peer pachanat.”
Guru Amardas ji today is telling us the path of soul bride. He is saying to the soul bride, “Attach yourself to the Guru. Detach yourself from the world and attach yourself to the Guru and you will find your Husband Lord Waheguru.
Naanak Saa Dhhan Milai Milaaee Pir A(N)Thar Sadhaa Samaalae. Eik Rovehi Pirehi Vishhu(N)Neeaa A(N)Dhhee N Jaanai Pir Hai Naalae.
