that without the Naam, everything is false and worthless. ||1||

naam nidhhaan apaar bhagathaa man vasai ||
The infinite treasure of the Naam abides within the minds of the devotees.

Birth and death, attachment and suffering, are erased in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||

mohi baadh aha(n)kaar sarapar ru(n)niaa ||
Those who indulge in attachment, conflict and egotism shall surely weep and cry.

Those who are separated from the Naam shall never find any peace. ||2||

Crying out, Mine! Mine!, he is bound in bondage.

Entangled in Maya, he is reincarnated in heaven and hell. ||3||

Searching, searching, searching, I have come to understand the essence of reality.

Without the Naam, there is no peace at all, and the mortal will surely fail. ||4||

Awvih jwih Anyk mir mir jnmqy ]
aavehi jaahi anaek mar mar janamathae ||
Many come and go; they die, and die again, and are reincarnated.

bin boojhae sabh vaadh jonee bharamathae ||5||
Without understanding, they are totally useless, and they wander in reincarnation. ||5||

They alone join the Saadh Sangat, unto whom the Lord becomes Merciful.

Uncounted millions, so many they are endless, search for Him.

But only that one, who understands his own self, sees God near at hand. ||7||

Never forget me, O Great Giver – please bless me with Your Naam.

Satgur Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj talks to us in the raag of complete true love today, in Soohee Raag. Guru Maharaj Ji says simrith baedh puraan pukaaran potheeaa. The Simritees, the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Hindu scriptures, pukaaran potheeaa.  All the holy scriptures say one thing: naam binaa sabh koorr galhee hoshheeaa,  Without the Naam, without Waheguru ji’s Naam, everything is koorr, false. Everything is gaalhee hoshheeaa, worthless.

naam nidhaan apaar bhagathaa man vasai  And the Sikhs ask where is the Naam, Guruji?  Guruji says that the naam nidhaan, treasure of Naam,  which is apaar, is infinite. The infinite treasure of the Naam, where is it? It vasai, abides, within the minds of the bhagats, the devotees, of the ones who are in love with the Waheguru.

janam maran mohu dhukh saadhhoo sang nasai By doing the sang,  by doing the sangat, by sitting in the congregation of the holy people, these sadhus, these blessed saints, the mohu, the attachment and the dukh, the pain of going through the janam maran, countless lives and deaths, the reincarnation, nasai, is removed in the sangat of those Gursikhs.

Rehao  Guruji says just pause and think about this.

mohi baadh ahankar sarapar runniaa  Guruji says: Those people who indulge in mohi, attachment, in baadh,  conflicts, in arguments, in ahankaar,  ego — sarapar runniaa, it’s a guarantee that they will weep and cry when they leave this earth. They will realize that they have lost everything.

sukh n paaeinih mool naam vishunniaa Because they are separated. Because they are not joined themselves to the Naam. They cannot even find a moment of peace, even a second, even a bit of sukh, peace.

meri meri dhaar bandhhan bandhhiaa The crying out, the dhaar of meri meriL This is mine! This is mine! The ego inside which cries out this is mine, bandhhan bandhhiaa ,  Guruji says,  that is what is tying you down, Oh human being, and you don’t even realize that!

narak surag avathaar maaeiaa dhhandhhiaa When we are entangled in affairs of Maya, this illusion around us, then we have to go through narak, hell, surag, heaven again and again, again and again. Pain and pleasure, again and again, again and again, again and again.

sodhath sodhath sodhh thath beechaariaa Searching again and again and again and again, I have found and understood the thath, true essence of everything. When the Sikhs asked, Guruji said, naam bina sukh naahi sarapar haariaa Without the Naam, without the Naam of Waheguru Parmeshwar, there is no peace. And the person who doesn’t have the Naam will lose everything, surely, Guruji says.

aavehi jaahi aneak mar mar janamathae Those people come onto this earth, leave this earth thousands of them, millions of them, they die again and again;  and they are born again and again.

bin boojhae sabh vaadh jonee bharamathae But without understanding why they are meant to be on this earth, sabh vaadh, everything is useless. Guruji says: They wonder around jonee bharamathae, in different life forms.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji says,  jinh ko bheae dhaeiaal thinh saadhhoo sang bhaeiaa Those people upon whom Waheguru is dhaeiaal, merciful, then what are they blessed with? With the sangat, with the congregation of holy ones, saints.

amrith har kaa naam thinhee janee jap laeiaa The Amrit of Hari’s Naam, the Amrit of Waheguru’s Naam, those janee, those servants, those blessed souls, get the chance to jap laeiaa , that Amrit Naam, the immortal Naam.

khojehi kott asankh bahuth ananth kae Many are searching. khojehi, kott millions. Asankh means those that cannot even be counted, for many many years. Many people are searching for Waheguru.

But jis bujhaaeae aap naeraa this hae Only those people who Waheguru himself allows to understand and that person who totally understands himself, Waheguru is only close to that person.

And in the last two lines Guru Arjan Devji says, visar naahee dhaathaar aapanaa naam dhaehu ll gun gaavaa dhin raath naanak chaao eaehu Oh Merciful Waheguru! Never forget me and never let me forget You, Waheguru. Bless me with Your Naam. With the gift of Your Naam, the highest gift. What will I do when I get Your Naam?  I will gun gaavaa, I will sing Your praises day and night. Nanak says, This is my only desire from my heart.

Guru Arjan Devji today is telling us without the Naam everything else is false. We hear this again and again/ May Guru Arjan Devji do kirpa upon us that we listen to it and actually act upon it. And we all get together and do Ardaas. What Ardaas?
