The hukamnama today is from Guru Amar Daas ji, and in this hukam he actually quotes from Jap(u)ji Sahib, from Guru Nanak Dev ji. He describes the process of living in your true identity. suniaa manniaa man keethaa Listen deeply! Fill your mind with the Naam, and you will merge with God, Oh my Brother! All day and night, seek it in all and let it be the focus of your thoughts. Meditate on the One Naam, and peace will fill you, Oh my beloved Brother! Let your ego and your doubt and duality be erased, and shine in the glory of your own identity. The bhagats and the munis long to be in the state of Oneness with God. But without the Satguru, it can never be experienced. The pandits and the astrologers study their books; but no amount or number of books give you this understanding. All other creatures are one with God. He belongs to them; and they belong to Him. So how can we call anyone or anything bad? Because it is all God. The hukam of the One God, that Order, that One Order, pervades all of Creation. And all of Creation serves God by acting in His Hukam. If people go astray, it is because God Himself has led them astray. God Himself has placed greed and dishonesty in their hearts, because those are the lessons they need to know in this lifetime. But a few Gurmukhs are blessed, and have this deep understanding, and listen and reflect upon the One within and without. And it is His gift to those Gurmukhs that they live as true bhagats. They live in a state of adoration and a state of love of the entire Creation. And they find that Treasure of realization within themselves. A true gyanni knows nothing but gyann, nothing but truth and knowledge. And that deep understanding of reality arises within that one. They may be led astray, but they do not go astray, because they have anchored themselves in the experience of the loving God. And sitting within their own bodies, where the five passions exist, they bring them under control. They are not their victim. Oh Nanak! Through the Satguru, they live in triumph. They live in peace. And through the Naam, their ego goes away. And they sit in that seat of Oneness with God.
