Ravi Daas offers this one prayer unto the Lord: please preserve and protect my honor, O Lord, my King. ||2||2||

Dhan Dhan Bhagat(t)h Ravidaas ji Maharaj speaks to us in the Dhanaasaaree raag, the raag which when joined with the amrit(t)h Bani takes away all anxieties from the mind. And Maharji says,

chith simaran karo nain avilokano sravan baanee sujas poor raakho  chith simaran karo  In my chith, Waheguruji, in my consciousness, within deep inside my soul, I focus upon You, and I meditate upon You, chith simaran karo. Nain vailokan, with my nain, my eyes, avilokano, I am blessed with Your Darshan, Satguruji Maharaj, Oh Waheguruji!  I am blessed when I meditate, when I focus, I find, I remain, I am blessed with Your Darshan in my eyes. And then Bhagatji says, sravan baanee sujas poor raakhoSravan, with my ears I listen to Your Bani, Your words, Your Divine Shabad, and I keep within me Your sujas, Your praise. In the next line, Bhagat(t)hji says,

man s madhhukar karo madhihukar means a bee. My mind is the bee, charan hiradhae dhharo Your charan, Oh Waheguruji,  are the lotus flower! Your charan are the flower charan hiradhae dhharo, when I take your charan, Your lotus feet, lotus feet means charan, and I keep them within my heart, within my hiradhaesravan baanee sujas poor raakho  And by meditating upon Raam Naam, upon Your Name, by saying again and again with my tongue, rasan a(n)mrith raam naam bhaakho with my rasan, with my tongue, by meditating upon Your Name again and again and again, I taste the amrit within.

Guru Nanak Patshahji says something very similar in raag Soohee on Ang 728 of Guru Granth Sahibji. Guru Nanak Patshaji says, rasanaa naam japahu thab mathheeai ein bidhh a(n)mrith paavahu.  Guru Patsha Sahibji says, Churn inside you, meditating with your tongue on Waheguru. sravan baanee sujas poor raakho. This is the way of tasting the amrit. We ask Waheguruji again and again,  How do we get the Naam? How do we mediate?  Guruji says, With your tongue, first begin meditating, and you will find the amrit within you.

maeree preeth gobi(n)dh sio jin ghattai  My preeth, my love, Bhagat(t)hji says, gobi(n)dh, that seed of the universe, that Waheguru, Who controls our universe, never ever decreases, never ghattai.  mai tho mol mehagee lee jeea sattai  Bhagat(t)hji says, How could we be any less. I gave my jeea, gave my soul. mol mehagee means it was very, very, very expensive, very, very dear. I had to give my life in order to find the Life of the World, Akaal Purakh(u),  Waheguru.

rehaao || Bhagat(t)hji says, Pause and think about this. This is what true love is: Giving your Soul. Giving, giving, giving, giving, giving.

saadhhasa(n)gath binaa bhaao nehee oopajai Without the saadhhasa(n)gath, without the company of the of those holy, blessed people, binaa bhaao nehee oopajai, love does not dwell within. There is no love when you go into the company of thieves. There is no love when you go into the company of liars. There is love when you go into the company of those who are meditating upon Waheguru. bhaav nehee  Bhagat(t)hji says, Without love bhagath nehee hoe thaeree, there is no love, there is no devotion, there is no reaching Waheguru without bakhti. Just as Guru Gobind Singhji says, Only those who have found love can through that love find the Lord. Without that love, and without that conviction, and without that devotion and that love within, you cannot reach Akaal Purakh(u).

kehai ravidhaas eik baenathee har sio  Bhagat(t)hji says that Ravidass ji has one baenathee, he has one hope in front of You, Oh Hari, Oh Waheguru! paij raakhahu raajaa raam maeree. Oh Waheguru, please keep my piaj! Piaj means honor; piaj means also to protect me. Please protect me from this world, and keep my paij with you. That is my only honor. My love is Yours, Waheguruji. Keep that forever and forever and forever intact.

So Bhagat(t)hji in this Shabad is talking about that love for Waheguru. And Bhagat(t)hji has told us the way. chith chith  With your mind do simaran, meditate upon Waheguru. Remember Him at all times. And with your eyes see God in all. With your ears listen to His ambrosial Bani. Waheguru’s play is going through your mind, hiradhae dhharo through your heart, through your soul. man s madhhukar  Make your mind the bee. karo charan  Make His lotus feet flower, and you will taste the a(n)mrith by meditating upon the raam naam. Wahguruji’s Naam, with your tongue.

That is Bhagat(t)hji’s aspiration for today: that His amrit bachan, that Waheguruji’s bachan remain within our soul for this day and forever.
