The Dear Lord protects His humble devotees; throughout the ages, He has protected them.

so bhagath jo guramukh hovai houmai sabadh jalaaeiaa raam ||
Those devotees who become Gurmukh burn away their ego, through the Word of the Shabad.

houmai sabadh jalaaeiaa maerae har bhaaeiaa jis dhee saachee baanee ||
Those who burn away their ego through the Shabad, become pleasing to my Lord; their speech becomes True.

sachee bhagath karehi dhin raathee guramukh aakh vakhaanee ||
They perform the Lord’s true devotional service, day and night, as the Guru has instructed them.

bhagathaa kee chaal sachee ath niramal naam sachaa man bhaaeiaa ||
The devotees’ lifestyle is true, and absolutely pure; the True Name is pleasing to their minds.

naanak bhagath sohehi dhar saachai jinee sacho sach kamaaeiaa ||1||
O Nanak, the those devotees, who practice Truth, and only Truth, look beauteous in the Court of the True Lord. ||1||

har bhagathaa kee jaath path hai bhagath har kai naam samaanae raam ||
The Lord is the social class and honor of His devotees; the Lord’s devotees merge in the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

har bhagath karehi vichahu aap gavaavehi jin gun avagan pashhaanae raam ||
They worship the Lord in devotion, and eradicate self-conceit from within themselves; they understand merits and demerits.

gun aougan pashhaanai har naam vakhaanai bhai bhagath meethee laagee ||
They understand merits and demerits, and chant the Lord’s Name; devotional worship is sweet to them.

anadhin bhagath karehi dhin raathee ghar hee mehi bairaagee ||
Night and day, they perform devotional worship, day and night, and in the home of the self, they remain detached.

bhagathee raathae sadhaa man niramal har jeeo vaekhehi sadhaa naalae ||
Imbued with devotion, their minds remain forever immaculate and pure; they see their Dear Lord always with them.

naanak sae bhagath har kai dhar saachae anadhin naam samhaalae ||2||
O Nanak, those devotees are True in the Court of the Lord; night and day, they dwell upon the Naam. ||2||

manamukh bhagath karehi bin sathigur vin sathigur bhagath n hoee raam ||
The self-willed manmukhs practice devotional rituals without the True Guru, but without the True Guru, there is no devotion.

houmai maaeiaa rog viaapae mar janamehi dhukh hoee raam ||
They are afflicted with the diseases of egotism and Maya, and they suffer the pains of death and rebirth.

mar janamehi dhukh hoee dhoojai bhaae paraj vigoee vin gur thath n jaaniaa ||
The world suffers the pains of death and rebirth, and through the love of duality, it is ruined; without the Guru, the essence of reality is not known.

bhagath vihoonaa sabh jag bharamiaa anth gaeiaa pashhuthaaniaa ||
Without devotional worship, everyone in the world is deluded and confused, and in the end, they depart with regrets.

kott madhhae kinai pashhaaniaa har naamaa sach soee ||
Among millions, there is scarcely one who realizes the Name of the True Lord.

naanak naam milai vaddiaaee dhoojai bhaae path khoee ||3||
O Nanak, through the Naam, greatness is obtained; in the love of duality, all honor is lost. ||3||

bhagathaa kai ghar kaaraj saachaa har gun sadhaa vakhaanae raam ||
In the home of the devotees, is the joy of true marriage; they chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever.

bhagath khajaanaa aapae dheeaa kaal kanttak maar samaanae raam ||
He Himself blesses them with the treasure of devotion; conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord.
???? ????? ???? ????? ??? ??? ???? ???? ?????? ??? ???? ?
kaal kanttak maar samaanae har man bhaanae naam nidhhaan sach paaeiaa ||
Conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord; they are pleasing to the Lord’s Mind,and they obtain the true treasure of the Naam.

sadhaa akhutt kadhae n nikhuttai har dheeaa sehaj subhaaeiaa ||
This treasure is inexhaustible; it will never be exhausted. The Lord automatically blesses them with it.

har jan oochae sadh hee oochae gur kai sabadh suhaaeiaa ||
The humble servants of the Lord are exalted and elevated, forever on high; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad.

naanak aapae bakhas milaaeae jug jug sobhaa paaeiaa ||4||1||2||
O Nanak, He Himself forgives them, and merges them with Himself; throughout the ages, they are glorified. ||4||1||2||
Dhan Dhan, Gru Amardas ji Maharaj the embodiment of saeva in the house of Guru Naanak, Gur Prasaad jio, speaks to us today, SadSangatth ji in the Sohee raag. Guruji says, Ik oankaar sathigur prasaadh, There is one Akaal Puraakh(u) who is the Sustainer, Nourisher and Destroyer of this world. Who is found through the Satgur, the True Guru’s Prasaadh, the Guru’s kirpa, blessings, grace,
bhagath janaa kee har jeeo raakhai Guru Sahibji says, through the bhagath janaa kee, through the humble devotees of Waheguru, those servants of Waheguru har jeeo raakhai. Waheguruji protects them raakhai. jug jug rakhadhaa aaeiaa raam Guru Maharaj Amardas ji says jug jug, for many ages, raam, Waheguru, rakhadhaa, has protected his beloved servants. But Guru ji says,
so bhagath jo guramukh hovai That person can alone be called bhagath, can alone be called devotee, can alone be called be called a lover of God, jo guramukh hovai, who is Gurmukh, who follows the Guru’s teachings. And through the Guru’s teachings, what does he do? houmai sabadh jalaaeiaa raam. Through the Guru’s teachings he jalaaeiaa, he sets fire to, he eradicates houmai, ego.
houmai sabadh jalaaeiaa maerae har bhaaeiaa Those Gurmukhs who churn through their ego through the shabad, maaerae har bhaaeeiaa, they maaerae, they please my Har, my Waheguru, my Lord. jis dhee saachee baanee. Whose baanee, whose words are true. .
sachee bhagath karehi dhin raathee guramukh aakh vakhaanee
And those Gurmukhs, they do sachee bhagath, they do true devotional worship of God, dhin raathee, day and night. Guramukh aakh vakhaanee, because the Guru has aakh, has told them
bhagathaa kee chaal sachee The chaal, the way they move in this life, the way they live in this life, the way they do everything, those bhagatts, those devotees, the ones covered in God’s love, all the way they live their lives is true. ath niramal And is the most pure, is the purest of the pure, naam sachaa man bhaaeiaa, because the True Naam, the Sat Naam, the Siri Waheguru is man bhaaeiaa, is pleasing to their mind. When they jap Naam, they feel the ras.
naanak bhagath sohehi dhar saachai. Oh Naanak! Those bhagatts, they look beautiful in the dhar ssachai, in the true court of the Lord. jinee sacho sach kamaaeiaa, they completely practice the Truth and only the Truth, in their lives.
har bhagathaa kee jaath path hai bhagath Hari, Waheguru Himself, is the jaath path, is the social honor, of His own bhagatts, har kai naam samaanae raam. Because the bhagatts of samanae have absorbed themselves completely into the Naam, of Waheguru. As Siri Guru Gobind Singh says, "Khalsa kee jaath," The Khalsa is my social status, is my honour. My everything.
har bhagath karehi vichahu aap gavaaveh jin gun avagan shhaanae raam
The devotees, they worship Waheguru, they do bhagtthi of Hari, by doing what? Vichahu aap gavaaveh, by losing themselves, by eradicating the sense of “I” and ego within themselves. Jin gun avagan shhaanae. Because they realize, what are the good, what are the virtues, what are the vices, the avagan, the shhaanae. They have realized that. gun aougan pashhaanai. When they realize between avagan, the virtues, and the shhaanae, the vices, when they understand the difference. har naam vakhaanai. They start remembering, they start their meditating, upon the Naam, the name of Waheguru. Bhai bhagath meethee laagee. And to them, devotional worship and devotional fear of God is meethee, seems sweet.
anadhin bhagath. Anadhin, day and night, they do bhagatthi. They do bhagatthi day and night. They meditate upon Waheguru, the meditate upon Sat Naam Siri Waheguru! karehidhin raathee ghar hee mehi bairaagee. And within themselves, within their own souls, within the house of their soul, they remain bairaagee, they remained detached from all this world. They now that this whole world is an illusion.
bhagathee raathae sadhaa man niramal har jeeo Those bhagatts, who are bhagathee, who are raathee, who are colored in devotion, with worship in devotion and love sadhaa man niramal, their minds become niramal, become pure. Har jeeo vaekhehi sadhaa naalae. And they see, they vaekhehi, they see Waheguru is sadhaa naalae, is forever with them. They realize that Waheguru is everywhere.
naanak sae bhagath har kai dhar saachae anadhin naam samhaalae
Oh Naanak, sae bhagath, those beloved devotees are dhar saachae, are recognized as true in the dhar in the court or the door of Waheguru, who anadhin naam samhaalae, who anadin, day and night, amhaalae, meditate upon the Naam.
manamukh bhagath karehi bin sathigur vin sathigur bhagath n hoee raam
The manmukhs, they try to do devotional worship, but without the Satguru, without the True Guru’s teachings. Vin sathigur bhagath n hoee raam. Vin sathigur, without the Satgur, without the True Guru there can be no mediation, bhagath n hoee, there can be no devotion, there can be no love without the Guru’s instructions
houmai maaeiaa rog viaapae When you get attachked by houmai, when they get attached by maya, by this illusion, maaeiaa rog, the illness of this illusion, mar janamehi dhukh hoee raam. They mar, they die, they janamehi, they are born again and again. And they feel dhukh, they feel pain.
mar janamehi dhukh hoee dhoojai bhaae paraj vigoee vin gur thath n jaaniaa
By dying and being born again and again and again and again and again, they feel so much pain, so much dhukh, dhoojai bhaae paraj vigoee. And through the dhooji bhaae, dhooji bhaee, means the love of this illusion, through this illusion, paraj vigoee, this world, is vigoee, is ruined. vin gur thath n jaaniaa. Without the Guru no one realizes that this is the essence, what we are here to do. Only the Guru can tell us that. Only Guru Grand Sahibji can tell us that.
bhagath vihoonaa sabh jag bharamiaa Without bhagatthi, without meditation and worship upon Akaal Purakh(u), sab jag bharamiaa, the whole world is in peril. anth gaeiaa pashhuthaaniaa And in the end anybody who does not meditate upon Waheguru is pashhuthaaniaa, has found regrets.
kott madhhae kinai pashhaaniaa Amongst kott madhhae amongst millions of people, only one amongst kott madhhae, amongst millions, kinai, only one, scarce, very scarse is the pashhaaniaa, who realizes this pain har naamaa sach soee. And the one person who realizes the Hari Naam, the Hari’s Naam, Waheguruji’s Naam, is sach, is the only Truth.
naanak naam milai vaddiaaee Oh Naanak! Only through Naam, only through Waheguru’s Naam, can anyone have any vaddiaaee, have any greatness. dhoojai bhaae path khoee, in the love of this duality and this delusion, Guruji says, path khoee, all honor is lost.
bhagathaa kai ghar kaaraj saachaa In the home of the bhagatts, of the devotees, there is the true, the kaaraj, the true anand(u) kaaraj of the soul going on. har gun sadhaa vakhaanae raam And within them there is always the hari gun, the praises of Waheguru going on again and again.
bhagath khajaanaa aapae dheeaa. Waheguru himself blesses his devotees with the treasure of bhagatthi, of devotional worship, kaal kanttak maar samaanae raam. And by conquering death, by conquering death, maar, by completely eradicating and killing death, by even killing death, and by becoming altered by the Guru’s word, and with their head in their hands, like Baba Deep Singh, samaanae, they merge into Waheguru.
kaal kanttak maar samaanae har man bhaanae naam nidhhaan sach paaeiaa They break through death, maar, and they merge into Waheguru, samaanae. Har man bhaanae, and they please Waheguruji, naam nidhhaan sach paaeiaa, they are blessed with the true nidhhaan treasure of Naam, of Waheguruji’s Naam.
sadhaa akhutt kadhae n nikhuttai Why is this the true treasure, the Sikhs ask? Guru Amardas ji says, sadhaa akhut, because It is inexhaustible, akhut means inexhaustible, and n nikhuttaie, is inexhaustible, it cannot ever ever run out. har dheeaa sehaj subhaaeiaa And Guruji blesses them in sehaj subhaaeiaa, in complete ease and essence of balance.
har jan oochae Waheguruji’s jan, Waheguruji’s servants are are oochae, are higher than the rest of the world. sadh hee oochae And they are higher forever, than everyone else forever. gur kai sabadh suhaaeiaa because they are decorated suhaaeiaa with gur kai sabadh, with the word of the Guru.
naanak aapae bakhas milaaeae jug jug sobhaa paaeiaa
Oh Naanak! Waheguru Himself bakhas who gives them milaaeae and merges them in with Himself. Jug jug sobhaa paaeiaa. Jug jug, Time after Time, age after age, they paaeiaa, they find sobhaa, they find glory, and greatness.
Guru Amardas ji is telling us today in this hukamnama: Waheguruji always protects his devotees. But only for those people who walk on the path of devotion, and it is very hard to walk on that path. It is very hard. But remember the words we read in Rehras every day: har jug jug bhagath oupaaeiaa paij rakhadhaa aaeiaa raam raajae ll haranaakhas dhusatt har maariaa prehalaadh tharaaeiaa haranaakhas dhusatt har maariaa prehalaadh tharaaeiaa. Like Waheguruji looked after Prehalaadh and killed Harnaakhash, ahankaareeaa nindhakaa pith dhaee naamadhaeo mukh laaeiaa, And turned his back towards on the ahankaareeaa, the egotistical Brahmins, and gave all his love to Namdev, that same Waheguru is looking after us, jan naanak aisaa har saeviaa anth leae shhaddaaeiaa, and will save us.
