Satgur Arjan Dev ji Maharaj is talking to us in the Raag Dhanaasree, the Dhanaasree Raag in which all worries fall away and the mind is left and the soul is left in pure relaxation. And, in this state of mind, Guru Arjan Dev ji says
maa(n)go raam thae sabh thhok, only beg, only ask from Raam, from Waheguru, sabh thhok, for everything; for anything you desire, anything you want only maa(n)go, only beg from Waheguru. Why? Because
maanukh ko jaachath sram paaeeai prabh kai simaran mokh, when you ask from a maanukh, human being, jaachath sram paaeeai , what will you find? You will find the human being will say that you are in his debt or her debt you will find that the human being will want something back in return for giving you this. But, what happens if you remember God? prabh kai simaran mokh, by meditating upon Waheguru, by doing simran of prabhu, of Waheguru, what do you get, mokh, liberation. rehaao, Guru ji says pause and think about this.
ghokhae mun jan si(n)mrith puraanaa(n) baedh pukaarehi ghokh, ghokhae means to study; I have studied, I have looked through the si(n)mrith puraanaa(n), the Simritees and the Puraanas, the Hindu Holy books, with the Rishis and the sages and the saints; baedh, and I looked through the Vedas and they all pukaarehi, they all call out for this one thing for you to meditate upon God. Guru ji says to us in Sukhmani Sahib, manukh ki tek birthee sabh jaan, devan ko eikai bhagwan, know that the support of the human being has a limit, but devan ko eikai bhagwan, the only Giver on this earth is Waheguru. He is the only One, Who gives and does not ask anything back. He gives you more and more and does not ask anything back.
kirapaa si(n)dhh saev sach paaeeai dhovai suhaelae lok, by doing sewa of kirapaa si(n)dhh, si(n)dhh means ocean, kirpaa means mercy, grace. If you do sewa of the ocean of mercy, the ocean of grace, of Waheguru, what will you find? You will find paaeeai, you will find sach, you will find Truth, the eternal Truth. dhovai suhaelae lok and then both worlds, both loks, this world and the next, for you are suhaelae, are satisfied, are perfected.
aan achaar biouhaar hai jaethae bin har simaran fok, aan means other, achaar ritual, biouhaar means things, customs. All other things we do, jaethae, all of them bin, without har simaran, without remembering God, are fok, are useless.
naanak janam maran bhai kaattae mil saadhhoo binasae sok, Nanak says janam maran bhai kaattae, my fear my bhai of birth and death, has been taken away, has been eliminated. Why? Because, mil saadhhoo, meeting the holy saints, the sadhu, binasae means to be taken away, sok means my sorrow. My pains, my sorrow has been taken away, upon meeting the holy saints.
