More and more, he continually yearns for more; but unless he is destined to receive, how can he obtain it?

He is entangled in wealth, bestowed by the Lord God; the unfortunate one attaches himself to the fire of desires. ||1||

Listen, O mind, to the Teachings of the Holy Saints, and all your sins shall be totally washed away.

One who is destined to receive from the Lord, O servant Nanak, shall not be cast into the womb of reincarnation again. ||2||2||19||

Sahib Siri Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj speaks to us in the Todee Raag and the Todee Raag has this feeling where the veil of illusion is cast and we must escape from this veil of illusion to find our beloved One. And, Guru Arjan Dev ji says,

garab gehilarro moorrarro heeou rae
my heeou my heart is moorrarro is foolish, is unwise, garab gehilarro, gehilarro means be ensnared by, garab means egotistical pride, my foolish heart is ensnared by this egotistical pride, even though I am nothing, and Waheguru is all, but still my foolish mind is entangled and ensnared.

heeou meharaaj ree maaeiou, ddeehar niaaee mohi faakiou rae. rehaao
this maaeiou, this illusion was created my meharaaj, my Lord, my Waheguru, but, what has it done, instead of accepting the gifts of that Giver, loving the Giver, and not the gifts, what have I done, what happened to me? ddeehar niaaee mohi faakiou rae, maya has faakiou, has devoured me like some sort of ddeehar, some sort of witch. This illusion, this false sense of illusion is devouring me, how? Desire is eating away of me, hatred is eating away of me, greed is eating away of me, and Guru ji says pause and think about this, rehaao.

sadh means continually, ghano ghano ghano means more and more and more, lorrai means to desire for, I desire for more and more and more things; bin lehanae kait(h)ai paaeiou rae, but without, bin means without, lehanae means to receive, but without that destiny on the forehead, kait(h)ai paaeiou rae, kait(h)ai means how, paaeiou means to receive, how can one receive anything?

meharaaj ro gaathh vaahoo sio lubharriou nihabhaagarro bhaahi sa(n)joeiou rae
meharaaj ro gaathh the gift of meharaaj, my Lord, vaahoo sio lubharriou, vaahoo means with that, sio, means particular thing, lubharriou, means to be ensnared again, Guruji is saying we are ensnared with the gifts of the Giver, but we do not love the Giver, that Waheguru, we are ensnared by His gifts, by this illusion, we are ensnared by this wealth around us, but we are nihabhaagarro, unfortunate, bhaahi sa(n)joeiou rae, we have sa(n)joeiou, we have attached ourselves to the bhaahi, to the fire, which will burn us, devour us of this illusion. Then Guru ji tells us how to escape.

sun man seekh saadhhoo jan sagalo thhaarae sagalae praashhath mittiou rae
sun man, O my mind listen, sun means listen, this is command to the mind, O my mind listen, to what, seekh, seekh means the teachings, the wisdom of who, saadhhoo jan, of the saints, of the holy ones, of the ones who walk upon the path of bliss; sagalo thhaarae sagalae praashhath mittiou rae, all your praashhath, all your sins, sagalae, thhaarae means yours, sagalo sagalea thhaarae, sagalo and sagalea means all of yours, thhaarae meaning yours, all your praashhath, all of your sins mittiou, will be destroyed, be taken away by listening to this wisdom. They will lead your from darkness into light.

jaa ko lehano meharaaj ree gaat(h)arreeou jan naanak garabhaas n pourriou rae
jaa ko lehano meharaaj ree gaat(h)arreeou, that person, jaa ko means that person, that person who is destined to lehano, to receive meharaaj, the Lord, God within his or her soul, gaat(h)arreeou, within them as a gift, jan nanak, Nanak the servant says, garabhaas n pourriou rae, that person will not paurriou means to back into garabhaas, means the womb, that person will not be cast into the womb again. That person will not have to go into re-incarnation again, who is destined to meet his or her soul, the Lord, Waheguru.

So, what Guru ji is saying to us is wake up from this entanglement, this veil of illusion, that is cast around you and seek the Truth.
